"I am 3 days post op. I had a breast lift with augmentation. I also had lipo 360 and a tummy tuck. I canot tell you how happy I am with the results. Dr Hedden is a miracle worker! This is my 3rd time to use Dr Hedden. He has a fabulous bedside manner. In fact, everyone at his office have been very kind and helpful. I trust all of them 100%. "I feel like I am in the best shape of my life! - I first went to Dr. Fontana for Botox and fillers when she was at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. After being disappointed with other doctors, I knew I was lucky to have discovered Dr. Fontana; she always provided me with amazing results!By the time I decided to finally pull the trigger and have permanent procedures done, Dr. Fontana had moved on for a Fellowship, but it was a no-brainer that I needed to travel and follow her for my desired plastic surgeries. I knew I trusted the skills of Dr. Fontana more than any other doctor I have encountered, and I can 1000% affirm that I was right to! These were my first surgeries of any kind, so of course I was still initially nervous, but there is something about Dr. Fontana’s very caring demeanor that so easily puts me at ease, and I knew I was in good hands. Most importantly, I had seen Dr. Fontana’s work and it is clear that she is an extremely talented surgeon! My results somehow even exceeded my expectations!!!Okay, now for the details:I am 41 years old (40 years old at time of the surgeries), athletic (run marathons and do crossfit), but have some stubborn areas of my body that were only getting worse with age, even with diet and exercise. I have included several before and after pictures, with the after pictures being about 2.5 months post-op. I had always been unhappy with the excess fat below my chin and the increasingly excess tissue above my eyelids. I had also previously had Dr. Fontana do fillers to better define my cheekbones. To finally permanently address these areas I was unhappy with, Dr. Fontana performed liposuction under my chin, upper blepharoplasty, and fat grafting to my cheekbones. I feel like these three procedures took 10 years off my face! I did not experience any pain or discomfort from any of these procedures, and wearing the compression for a few weeks under my chin was not bad at all (I would literally forget I was wearing it sometimes!). Obviously, I am extremely happy with my results! I know I am holding my head higher as it has rejuvenated my self-confidence; I even cut my hair short to accentuate these features I previously tried to hide!My family genetics cause me to retain excess fat around my midsection, which again was only getting worse with age, despite diet and exercise. Since I have been doing crossfit since my late 20s, several years ago I was close to seeing some markings of defined abs, but they were fading under my expanding “love handles”. My self-esteem was also decreasing as I was no longer able to fit into more and more of the clothes I loved. Dr. Fontana addressed my specific concerns, and gave me back my positive body image, by performing liposuction on flanks and abdominal etching. Dr. Fontana’s work DRASTICALLY exceeded my expectations! It is crazy that now, at 41 years old, I feel like I am in the best shape of my life!!! I have never felt so confident in my body! As an unexpected bonus, being so happy in my body has made me even more motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which I am very happy about! As for recovery, while there were a few weeks of swelling that could get a little uncomfortable at times, the compression really helped and I was only on pain killers for 2 days, so not a bad recovery at all.If anyone is questioning if they should choose Dr. Fontana, my advice would be to stop questioning and get an appointment with her ASAP!!! I feel like my pictures of her work speak for themselves; you will not be disappointed! My only regret is waiting as long as I did to finally set up my procedures…I’m kicking myself for not making the appointment to rejuvenate myself sooner!"

"I had a bbl and lipo 360 with Dr. Hedden last year, and I’ve been very happy with my results. I did an online consultation. The following appointments were pretty quick, and overall, the price was reasonable for what I had done. They were very straight forward about pricing and everything involved with the surgery. They also have good post surgery support, which I appreciated. I really liked that they have an after hours line for any problems you may have, and I could get in touch with an on call nurse who actually answers if I had any issues. I recommend them. I’m happy with how my body turned out, and the overall process was very organized and went smoothly."

"bbl review - I recently had surgery on 9/9/22. I had lipo 360 w/ BBL. After gaining some weight, I wasn't happy with my body anymore. Despite diet and exercise, I still couldn't get the shape I wanted due to mostly fat on my waist. Originally, I was only going to get lipo done but figured I might as well use the fat while I have it since it's going to lipoed off anyways. I'm currently 3 weeks post op but the pictures I'm posting are from 2 weeks. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my results and finally have the body I've always dreamed of.Updated on 2 Oct 2021:I don’t have many good before pics on my phone, so I tried to do the best I could. Lol. I forgot to add the 2 weeks after pics to my initial review so here they are. I’ll also post updated pics next week. Updated on 27 Nov 2021:I love my results so much. "44 Year Old Sexy Back On - Dr. Hedden is awesome! His team is awesome as well. I had BBL & liposuction of flanks, upper & lower back, and upper abdomen. Not as painful as I expected. Staying on pain meds the first 72 hours and the compression garment was the absolute game changer. I followed doctors orders completely and everything is/was as he told me it would be. I'm loving my new body transformation.Results are still ongoing. Healthy diet & exercise is definitely helping."
"I am 28 year of age single mother living in Birmingham, Alabama. I am a nurse. I have always had a few problem areas on my hips that I just could not get to go away. I then saw some ads for smart liposuction.
I did my research and found a few doctors in Birmingham, Alabama that performed the procedure. A few were not even plastic surgeons and had their dogs in the office, just did not seem safe. Then a friend of mine told me to check out Dr. Hedden. I am so happy she did. They were so nice. The whole office was just so helpful.
I had the surgery at their surgery center and was there for about 2 hours. It was performed under local anesthetic and did not hurt at all. I have to admit I was very nervous that it was going to hurt but it did not, it was so easy. I was back to work the next day and had no signs of bruising.
I look great! I still cannot believe it did not hurt. I should have had it done even earlier. It was so worth it and very inexpensive.
I do believe my outcome was so good because I choose the right doctor. Do your research! Make sure they are a plastic surgeon and of course no dogs in the office. :)"
"Breast Implant Scar Revision with Dr. Hedden--one Year After Original Implant - Birmingham, AL - Breast augmentation/lift--revision on areolas 12 months after original surgery and liposuction to flanks. I'm very pleased with the result and pray my breasts maintain this appearance.I was scheduled to arrive for surgery at 10am and was called back around 12:30pm. After waking up in the recovery room, or being awakened by the amazing surgical nurse (Carol or Wynne or both) I was asked questions to make sure I was mentally stable to go home and given ice water because I indicated severe thirst. If you decide to have your surgery with Dr. Hedden or Dr. Schaffer, I hope you get Wynne or Carol for your surgical nurse. There are two other fantastic nurses in the office-- Penny and I'm afraid I don't recall the name of the other young nurse--sorry. Sherry and Meredith cover the reception area and both are amazing, beautiful people. Nicole, the surgical coordinator, is equally phenomenal. At my two week follow-up Dr. Hedden very gently removed the tape from my breasts and I was thrilled with the result. Yesterday I ran into a housekeeper at the hotel that I stayed in during my first surgery and she told me based on my urging her to do something for herself and my enthusiasm about Dr. Hedden, she had a tummy tuck with him and she's been referring other people to his office. I do love seeing an Alabama surgeon with such a diverse clientele and look forward to sending more patients to Hedden Plastic Surgery. Unfortunately I no longer have photos of my breasts after the areolas spread and the scars were raised and red (new phone)."
"I had Liposuction on my abs and back. I'm 75 years old. I do not have saggy skin. I am completely happy with it. I say choose your doctor wisely. I had a great one.
Dr. Hedden and his staff are the best. I was in and out in about 1 hour and a half. No problems. No down time. The man is a miracle worker. I have the same waist measurement now that I did in high school."
"46 Yo, 3 Children, 2 Grown Children - Birmingham, AL - I really was in need of a tummy tuck, like yesterday. I always tried loosing weight but the waist never went away. I was so happy to have finally decided to get my procedure. I decided to have the Tt, with liposuction of the flanks and back. I had saved enough money, but was worried about spending so much money on myself. This is something that I had never done in the past. After so much pain during the recovery phase. Lots, and lots of swelling, I even had to have fluid drained from my abdomen with a needle. I am so proud of my results. Dr. Hedden did an awesome job on my body and I am now happy. "Fine..... Wine...!!! - Birmingham, AL - I had my TT/Lipo with Dr. Hedden, this is the best thing I could have done. Not only do I feel great but I look fabulous and I still have swelling. I am very well pleased with my results. Before I surgery, I had many Victoria Secret sets that I would just wear the bras and not the panties because I did not like the way they would fit, now I have been an underwear model. My husband came home one day and asked "why are you walking around like that?" My answer simply was " because I can"!!! :-)Updated on 4 Nov 2015:I had a tummy tuck operation with liposuction to my flanks. What lead to me to have this surgery was an old vertical c-section scar that I called the "Doot Belly". I had so much scar tissue the exercise would have been impossible for me to lose this belly."
"The Most Real Review of Dr. Hedden in Birmingham, AL - So, here I am 4 months post-op and I am truly amazed by Dr. Hedden. Not only is he a brilliant surgeon, I am proof that he genuinely cares about his patients. I have probably been one of the worst, if not THE worst, patients he's ever had to deal with. I've had my feeling hurt when I felt ignored by his staff and posted a negative review because I transferred those feelings to Dr. Hedden. Two months while doing consultations with other plastic surgeons for a BBL, I began questioning the results of Dr. Hedden's work after another surgeon offered to "fix" my tummy tuck and liposuction (which doesn't need any fixing, btw). I have been absolutely horrible and Dr. Hedden has patiently corresponded with me via emails and phone calls. He insisted (in a very kind manner) that I come back to the office so he could check my incisions, offered post-op endermologie to help with swelling and urged me to share my before and after photos with the future President of the American Society of Plastic Surgery if I really believed he did a poor job on my tummy tuck. He also took the time to point out that no reputable surgeon should offer to do revision surgery after 3 months, something that I was aware of but was so upset after the other surgeon offered to "fix" my tummy and lipo that I just didn't think about the dates. The other surgeon was well aware that I had just had surgery 3 months earlier. I should note that my consultation was for a BBL and liposuction--NOT to question my tummy tuck results. Until that consultation I was perfectly happy. I had also had a photo consult with another surgeon who said they could improve my liposuction results, but to their credit they were not aware of my recent surgery.At any rate, I was so upset after that consultation that I immediately fired off an email to Dr. Hedden telling him I felt betrayed and felt he lied to me. Not very nice of me at all. Dr. Hedden was so gracious in his response and took the time to explain to me that there is no way I should be having revision surgery so soon. The tissue is still swollen and my incisions are still healing. He reminded me to come in for endermologie. I've been in Birmingham for two weeks so had one session last week and have another session scheduled for tomorrow. The endermologie helped tremendously!!I have to tell you ladies about Spa Greystone -- WOW! That place is absolutely amazing and I'm planning on going there for everything--botox, endermologie, massage, pedicures--they offer all services and the facility is elegant and relaxing. I ended up spending over $400 on facial products recommended by one of the aestheticians and my skin is already showing an improvement in one week's time.I still have swelling in my tummy when I don't wear a compression garment but I now understand that every person is different and I might have swelling for up to a year, maybe even longer. As long as I wear compression garments and keep doing massage and endermologie I feel and look great. I love my results and if by some rare chance I need any type of revision, the only surgeon I will trust is Dr. Hedden.Updated on 11 Mar 2015:A few before and after photos. "AMAZING DOCTOR!!!!! Best Care You Can Receive! – Birmingham, AL - Dr. Hedden is the most amazing doctor! He really goes above & beyond to make you feel 100% comfortable with your decision and the entire surgery. I mostly spoke to Heather, the out of town coordinator to send my pictures & ask questions. Dr. Hedden did respond to my emails and pictures as well. I can tell that he gets a large volume of emails as he is answering them late at night in effort to respond back to everyone. I paid 4k for my augmentation and I chose marena silicone implants. I am thrilled with my results. I chose 550 cc and went from a size 36 B to size 36D. The scarring is minimal and they sit perfectly on my chest. The first week and half I was extremely sore from the surgery. The medication makes u think you can resume normal activities but they key is to take it slow and rest a lot. Even simple things like washing my hair was a challenge. After week 2 I was feeling much better and by week 3 I was fully recovered. After returning home (I only stayed in AL for 3 days post surgery than returned home to NY) I was experiencing pain and Dr. Hedden asked me to text him pictures so he could check my progress and reassured me to just take it easy and sure enough eh was right. It has been a little over a month since the surgery and I am VERY HAPPY! I highly recommend Dr. Hedden. He explained and answered all my questions to me and made me and my husband feel comfortable and confident about the surgery. Birmingham is a beautiful place. I was very nervous about travelling to a place I had never been but it very similar to long island. There are lots of shopping plazas that have everything you could need. By day 3 we visited the two malls in Hoover. (beautiful). Everything was inexpensive and easy to find. No issues what so ever, which is something I stressed & worried about leading up to my surgery. Dr. Heddens office is GORGEOUS and super modern. I even treated myself to some botox as it was inexpensive as well. I would def go back to Dr. Hedden after I have my kids for some liposuction and tummy tuck. Absolutely no regrets. People thought I was crazy when I told them I was travelling down south to have my surgery but here in NY they wanted to charged me 8500 for the same procedure. I only paid about 4k for silicone. An additional 1k for airfare for me & my husband (you do need a care giver), 3 days hotel stay and car rental and meals and medication. I saved about 3500 flying down south and had the best care & the amazing results. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!!"

I got the price of $7779 which is great. The next open date is March which is ok. That gives me time to save up and not blow my Care Credit card to the limit. I want to know EVERYTHING that you girls have been through. What to expect about work, pain, result. I do not know anything about a cosmetice procedure and coming from Mississippi, it's not common that ppl talk about it. I know that I want it and I am going for it. I just need the sisterly support from experianced BBL patients. I am open for all suggestions and comments. I have started a new job and added a second job to my belt as well! I have finally chose a doctor for my procedure. I am going with Dr. Hedden. I have weighed all options, concerns, etc. and he is the best option. I have researched him and have received nothing but good feedback on him. My sx is scheduled for the 17th of January. I will be getting liposuction to the upper/lower back, flanks, and upper/lower abdomen w/fat graft to my buttocks. I am so excited and will post pics as soon as I am able to. It would be helpful if the women who have had this procedure give me some helpful advice on what I should/should not do and supplies that are good for healing.
