The following appointments were pretty quick, and overall, the price was reasonable for what I had done. They were very straight forward about pricing and everything involved with the surgery. They also have good post surgery support, which I appreciated. "bbl review - I recently had surgery on 9/9/22. I had lipo 360 w/ BBL. After gaining some weight, I wasn't happy with my body anymore. Despite diet and exercise, I still couldn't get the shape I wanted due to mostly fat on my waist. Originally, I was only going to get lipo done but figured I might as well use the fat while I have it since it's going to lipoed off anyways. I'm currently 3 weeks post op but the pictures I'm posting are from 2 weeks. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my results and finally have the body I've always dreamed of.Updated on 2 Oct 2021:I don’t have many good before pics on my phone, so I tried to do the best I could. "BBL with dr.gunn - I had my BBL and 4 areas of lipo by Dr Gunn. I'm three weeks weeks post op. I'll start off by saying that I'm super happy with my results and I think Dr Gunn is an amazing surgeon! He's compassionate, he listens to what you want and is straight forward with helping you to be realistic about your surgery. He doesn't rush you. He listened to all my long list of questions. He gave me exactly what I wanted. The fact that you can text him with any questions is amazing as well. I highly recommend him. I saw Dr. hedden the next day after surgery, he was awesome as well. Both surgeons are kind and professional. I have no complaints and nothing negative to say about either surgeon.The only one negative experience with having my surgery at Hedden plastic surgery is the nurses. They are rude and are not just not kind and warm which is what you expect with a nurse. My pre op nurse was sweet, my post op nurse was terrible. She didn't help me at all it was actually the receptionist( with the British accent) that offered me water and crackers after surgery. my post op nurse was complaining that everyone left her, complaining about her children as well. (I don't know her name but shes middle aged with brown hair) This was while I was waking up after surgery. I did hear her say that Dr Gunn called to check on me so that made me feel better. They could use new nurses but overall my experience was positive. The surgeons are amazing so don't let the nurses stop you from having surgery with them."
"I had a bbl on Aug7 wit dr.Gunn I went with him because he did my boob job and I was really comfortable with him . But the bbl is way different than the boobs I was in so much pain the 1st and 2nd day today I am 3 days post op and it's getting way better I love my results the are the [RS bleep]. "Consult Review: Dr. Gunn is Great! .. Will Update Post Op! - Dr. Gunn is really nice and knowledgeable. I'm fairly thin (5'3 124 lbs) and we are going to do the bbl with fat transfer to the hips. He was fully transparent to the fact that I do not have a lot of fat to graft but he thinks he could give me the results I'm looking for. I had my consult maybe 3 weeks ago. I was excited, and then I got a little anxious so I blew up his phone and emails with questions. He and his nurses were really cool about it. He answered my questions and assured me that he would take as much fat as he could but more than likely, I wouldn't have a huge bubble butt. Which I'm ok with. I'm scheduled for surgery in 3 weeks. Will keep you updated!Updated on 4 Apr 2020:I’m 7 weeks post op. The surgery went well. The first week was torture. It was awful. After that everything was cool. My follow ups were cool. Dr. Gunn and his staff were really kind. I wasn’t expecting a huge transformation because I was a thin woman to began with. My first week out of surgery my results were just amazing. I still look at the pics in my phone just to reminisce. However, we the swelling went down, so did my excitement. Lol. I still look good, just not much different than I did before. My friends all say they can’t see where anything was done. Which for some can be a good thing! Right now I’m working on picking up more weight. Hopefully that will help everything look more pronounced. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just take the L but I’m definitely not considering a round 2. As far as experience is concerned, it was great. The pre op was simple. The surgery was fast. When I got there, it ran like a well oiled machine. My only complaint is my results and I guess I can’t blame anyone for a fast metabolism. It’s a gift and a curse. Well, now that I’ve added photos, I guess I can tell a little. If you squint and turn your head to the side. Haha."
"Consultation review: Wouldn’t show pictures of previous BBL’s - I went to see him April 2019. Wait time was short and he is a nice man. He answered my questions, but I didn’t feel completely comfortable with his answers because some didn’t coincide with research I’ve. done on Bbl, lipo/tummy tucks. While there I asked to see pictures of some of his work (Bbl’s), but he blew me off and asked me to email him and he would send some. We ended the consultation and his nurse gave me the cost. I emailed him as soon as I got in my car in his office parking lot...that was a Monday. I waited a couple days but he didn't reply, so I emailed him again on Wednesday...still no reply. I waited through the weekend and no reply, so I emailed a third time the following Monday..still no reply from Dr. Gunn. Needless to say he’s not the doctor that should do my BBL...disappointing to say the least.Updated on 29 Jun 2019:Since my initial post, Dr. Gunn reached out to me via email and left me his cell number. I called and he did not give me any empty excuses, but admitted that he dropped the ball, was very apologetic, and asked how he could “make it right” if I was still interested. During our conversation, I could sense his sincerity...he answered more questions, immediately sent pictures of previous BBL’s, so my surgery date is July 16. I am nervous, but excited. I’m not that anxious about the lipo, but I am about the BBL. I’m a very petite person and I want a great, natural looking butt to compliment my size. He assured me that I would be happy... I hope so! I would like to have my surgery sooner than 7/16, but he was booked, therefore I am the move-up list if there is a cancellation. Nevertheless, once I do have the surgery, I will post pictures and share my journey.Updated on 18 Mar 2020:My surgery was July 2019. Dr. Gunn has been great. I have referred several people to him (maleand female) since my surgery. I am 8 months post-op and loving my results. I’ve seen him several time since my surgery and he is always attentive and personable. I do suggest lymphatic massages...they really help."
"I absolutely love this place. It is such a laid back envioronment and the nurses and doctors are so kind! Dr. Hedden is great! I received a breast augmentation from him and he did an amazing job and about 2 months ago I got a Brazilian butt lift done by Dr. Gunn and he was beyond great! He made my body look better than I could have ever imagined and I would recommend him to anyone thinking about getting this surgery done! "Getting anxious! Surgery scheduled! - I had sleeve surgery over a year ago and am anxiously awaiting a bbl, tummy tuck, and lift w/ aug. by Dr. Hedden. He was bey thorough and has answered my questions personally via email and Skype consult. "The ONLY surgeon I will use - Dr. Hedden has preformed 2 surgeries on me 4 years apart and I have been happy with both. First was a breast augmentation and then a Brazilian butt lift. I will never use anyone else for anything else. All surgeries are in house so no hospital visits needed and there is even a spa upstairs that fits all your other needs. I refer every girl I see to him and they are all happy with their results as well. Even random girls I meet out on the town who ask me if I have had work done and really want something done theirselves but don’t know where to start. I send them all to Dr. Hedden. I did a lot of research and a lot of consultations 4 years ago and I’m so glad I chose Dr. Hedden. He has made sure that I am not a walking horror story. I know too many girls who have had messed up breast by going to someone else and then have to go to Dr. Hedden for revision. He is the first and ONLY choice in my opinion."
"Good experience - Dr. Gunn was very nice and answered my long list of questions at our consultation. I went for a BBL, I was very nervous thinking about surgery and risks but he made me feel me comfortable after meeting with him. I decided to schedule the surgery and had it done on 4/20. I thought I would have really bad anxiety that day but I didn’t. When I got there I filled out a little paperwork then was called back. A nurse took before pictures and shortly after Dr. Gunn went over the surgery and made drawings on me. The nurse started my IV and I spoke with the anesthesiologist who was very nice, he put some medicine in my IV and walked me to the OR. I got on the table, took a few breaths from an oxygen mask and I was out! I’ve had a few questions for him throughout my recovery and he has been very easy to get ahold of and I will be seeing him again soon for my 2 week post op appointment! So far, I’m happy with my results. I have a flat tummy and although I wish my butt and hips were a bit bigger, I didn’t have as much fat I had hoped to graft there."
"Dirty 30 - I turned 30 this year and I've always wanted to get my boobs done but have always had a reason not to. This year I couldn't find a reason not to and finally took the plunge! I saw Dr Hedden and his staff, and they were awesome! I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I'm on day two is of recovery and my husband has to leave town. Im sore but there's nothing I can't manage on my own at this point! But I did decide after losing some weight that I would be getting my BA/BL done. And I did! 750cc mentor implants and I couldn't be happier! I figured I'd post some after photos. Today I'm back at work 3 days after surgery and I'm sore for sure! I'm looking forward to being home and sitting still! Updated on 27 Mar 2018:Not a whole lot to update! 5 days post op and I'm not in a whole lot of pain. That may change since I'm working a 13 hour shift today, but we will see! Has anyone else used Nitro cream on their nipples? My doctor gave me a small supply to take home to help with nerve healing, and I've been using it religiously! I just ran out this morning though. Anyhow I'll post some update photos soon! Updated on 28 Mar 2018:So tomorrow will officially make a week post op and I'm itching to get back to my normal routine, going to the gym, and picking up my son! Unfortunately, because I'm not quite there, I have to do other things to occupy my time. I worked a 13 hour shift yesterday and it wasn't too bad. I felt a bit woozy mid day and sat for a little bit and felt better. My chest did feel really heavy today though, not painful, just heavy! I decided I needed to find a more supportive sports bra. I tried some at Target, Kohls, and then Ross before settling on a Puma sports bra that I'm not sure is the best fit but it's the best I could find. I knew going in to this that having a small rib cage and wanting tobe "so busty" was going to be a challenge when it came to clothing, bras, and bathing suits but the pros outweighed the cons! I have always had a large chest 34F at my largest size, but my weight has always fluctuated and the first thing to come or go with my weight was my breasts. And then after three kids and finally getting down to a size five...my poor deflated boobs could probably be rolled up to fit in to a C cup. Anyhow! I tried some clothes on for fun today while looking for a bra, and I always send pictures to my husband while he stands out and waits for me ;) ! Im definitely still swollen, my left side has dropped a little more than the right, but I'm still super happy with my results. Updated on 29 Mar 2018:I've definitely dreaded posting these, but I know how relevant they are to the review, and giving everyone an idea of how good Dr Hedden is! Updated on 17 Apr 2018:Just a quick update! I'm just a few days shy of 4 weeks post op. I still love my results, my healing is going great, and I think my scars are looking pretty good. I think there's days when I stare to hard and can pick out every small imperfection but looking at my before pictures really snaps me back to reality. I have sharp shooting pains occasionally but nothing horrible. I went back to my the gym today but didn't doing anything the made my arms or band strain. Finding a bra is difficult but I settled on a Victoria secret dream angel 36DDD."
"Half Moon Pillow for Bbl - Have anyone ever use one of these half moon pillows under thighs after Brazilian butt lift I am trying to keep from paying so much money on something that's temporary when I can always reuse this pillow. I have also considered purchasing a cushion U pillow as well that will relieve pressure also....Updated on 22 May 2018:1st day po visit he said everything looked good. "36, No Kids, Doing Something for Me! - Birmingham, AL - I'm so grateful this page exist. I've been researching doctors and pictures. I'm finally pleased to say, I've decided to go with Dr. William Hedden (Birmingham, AL). I've read his reviews, viewed pictures, and the location is fairly close to me (about 1 or 2 hours). I did my virtual consultation about a month ago and Dr. Hedden answered within 48 hours. He answered my questions and as far as the staff goes, a nice lady called to do a follow-up and to put my file together, and to let me know whenever I was ready, they were more than happy to assist.Tuesday, March 20, 2018, I'll have my face-to-face consultation with Dr. Hedden. I will definitely keep you all posted with updates. Now I'm on the fence with getting both TT and BBL, only because the downtime from work, if I don't work, I don't get paid! So, I may just go with the TT and lipo.If you ladies have any word of encouragement, advise, info on items I may need before and after, it is and will be greatly appreciated.Updated on 20 Mar 2018:I wanted to give you all an update on my consultation. So, I'm scheduled for April 11th. I decided to just go with the Tummy Tuck, Lipo (includes back flanks, lower back, and mid back). I paid for my deposit and bloodwork. My total $8800, minus the 10% and $35, so I make my final payment of $7885 on April 11th. I'm so excited and anxious. Dr. Hedden recommended I stay over night at a hotel close by because he wants to see me the following day.The staff and Dr. Hedden were all nice and they answered every question I had. I had a great vibe as soon as I walked in and said Good morning! I'll keep you all updated with pics at a later time.Updated on 16 Apr 2018:Hello all! I've finally made it to the flat side. My procedure was on April 11th had my first follow up on the following Thursday, April 12, 2018. The pain is at a low minimum, haven't taken any pain meds since last week. Drainage is a clear yellow fluid now, which is a good thing. I'm hoping Dr. Hedden will remove the drainage on my second follow-up, Tuesday, April 17, 2018. So far everything is healing well from my view. I'll post a few photos for now. Dr. Hedden and staff were awesome! Caring, Kind, Helpful, and Patient. I can shower now. In addition, I have to keep binder tight but I can wear a camisole or tank top underneath. Definitely dont want any excess fluid to build up. "BBL in Birmingham Alabama - I was unhappy with the shape of my bottom. Wanting some butt work done ages ago, I decided to go ahead and move forward with the bbl before I got any older, I am 43 and have had five children. After much research on cosmetic surgeons in my area, I decided to use Hedden Plastic Surgery Center’s Dr. Gunn. The nurses were wonderful and Dr. Gunn was very knowledgeable and nice. He listened carefully to what I wanted and as far as I can see right now, did just that. I am aware that there is swelling and that I will lose some volume over time, I hope not much. "44 Year Old Sexy Back On - Dr. Hedden is awesome! His team is awesome as well. I had BBL & liposuction of flanks, upper & lower back, and upper abdomen. Not as painful as I expected. Staying on pain meds the first 72 hours and the compression garment was the absolute game changer. I followed doctors orders completely and everything is/was as he told me it would be. I'm loving my new body transformation.Results are still ongoing. Healthy diet & exercise is definitely helping."
"For many years I have wanted a nicely shaped derrière. I have run marathons, engaged in rigorous exercise routines, but no matter what I did, I was never able to attain the look I desired. I finally began looking at surgical alternatives, did a lot of research and decided the results I was looking for would probably require buttock augmentation. A consultation with Dr. Hedden confirmed this procedure would likely provide the results I desired. Below I will share a very brief story of my first 6 weeks post-operatively.
Days 1-7: This was a pretty uncomfortable time for me. I felt very, very sore and it was difficult to find a comfortable position. However, the pain medication and muscle relaxers made it bearable. Each day got a little better.
Days 8-14: Bandages off … able to see results so the discomfort has been worth it! By Day 14, I went back to work full-time (office type job). I am comfortable sitting at work; you don't sit on the implants as they are placed above the part of your "bottom" that touches a seat. And best of all, my bottom "feels" natural to the touch … you can't feel the implants from the outside! However, still sore at times.
Days 15-21: By the end of the third week I was able to fully return to all activities except exercise. Still sore at times, but rather than feeling "painful" it feels more like feels like I have worked out really hard on a Stairmaster.
Days 22-28: Main challenge has been to not "over-do-it." I feel great and want to work out. I tried to exercise a little but my body was just not ready. Don't cheat and do any exercise routine early. It is NOT worth it. I tend to be impatient; as a result I am a little frustrated that I am not back to 100%.
Days 29-35: Still a little sore, but gets better every day.
Days 36-42: The implants now feel like a natural part of my body and the result is absolutely what I wanted. I have returned to all activities that I engaged in pre-operatively. I still wear the same size clothing, but the fit is SO MUCH better. I am very pleased with how much better my favorite, worn-out jeans look :)"
"Breast Augmentation After Breast Reduction - He is simply awesome. I was pretty apprehensive about letting another PS touch me because the PA that did my breast reduction really did a [RS bleep] poor job. However I'm SO satisfied with Dr. Heddens work with correcting my breast. He treated my scars and gave me my projection back. I will forever be grateful of him!! His staff was awesome and I absolutely loved his anesthesiologist-- she was very kind. My whole experience was great. My husband had questions after hours and the nurse on called called him back at 2am in the morning. I am thinking about getting a BBL and I might let Dr. H perform the procedure for me instead of going to Miami. I just feel like Dr. Hedden is a great PS and your just a number to him.
