What Is Sclerotherapy?
Spider veins are visible underneath the skin while they grow in branching patterns on the face and body and are often caused by hormonal changes, genetics, obesity, medications, blood clots, and medical conditions. Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery offers sclerotherapy to reduce or remove the appearance of spider veins on the face and body. Sclerotherapy is a nonsurgical procedure with no required recovery period. How Does Sclerotherapy Work?
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that does not require anesthesia. It is performed by injecting a sclerosing solution into the vein, which irritates the vein. In time, the vein collapses and becomes reabsorbed into the skin.
After treatment, the treated area will be dressed with compression tape or something else. The area may appear to look bruised, but this coloring will fade over the coming weeks.
