How Is a Tummy Tuck Performed?
Tummy tucks are performed with the patient under general anesthesia. The approach used for this surgery will depend on a variety of factors. To start with, the incision is made horizontally between the pubic hair and the belly button. The length and shape will be determined by the amount of sagging skin present. In some cases, an incision could be made near the belly button as well to remove extra skin from the upper abdominal area.
Once the incision is made, the skin is pulled taut, and excess skin is trimmed. Then, the remaining skin is sutured together and, if necessary based on the amount and location of skin removed, a belly button opening is created and the belly button is sutured into place. The skin is then closed up, then bandages and compression garments are applied.

Dr Hedden was my "Yes" when several other surgeons turned me down for a tummy tuck bc of a scar I was left with after an emergency open gallbladder removal.
