"Dr Hedden was my "Yes" when several other surgeons turned me down for a tummy tuck bc of a scar I was left with after an emergency open gallbladder removal. He thought outside the box and was so confident that a FDL Tummy tuck would not only give me the results I was looking for but would also lessen all the risks the other surgeons were so concerned about. I trusted him and went for it, also adding a lift revision with implants. He was able to remove to entire scar!! Everything has gone perfect and communication after surgery has been top notch. "I have had three surgeries with Dr. Halka @ Hedden & Gunn. A lower body lift w/bbl in 03/2024 a breast lift w/ implants 07/2024 and an upper body lift 12/2024. I lost over 119 pounds with diet and exercise, I maintained the weight loss for two years and then started considering cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. My first consult was with a surgeon in Miami. I was nervous but paid a deposit then I thought perhaps I find a Doctor near where I live, which led me to Hedden and Gunn. I did a virtual consultation with Dr. Halka he was very thorough explaining every option in detail and even including photos of results from each surgery, He then recommended what he thought would be my best option. I then decided to meet with him in person and I could not be more glad that I did, with surgery there are many ups and downs but the care I have received by everyone at this facility has been beyond what I could have ever expected. I have said many times that I am so glad that I decided to have my surgery locally and not out of state (in my case) I am sure many surgeries go off without a hitch but to have the clinic and staff close by for any and every concern I have had has been the best option for me. "A Whole New Me! - What a life-changing experience with Dr. Halka! As a 45-year-old woman, wife, and mother, I finally realized that taking care of myself IS taking care of my family. I decided to put myself and my health first for a change and set a goal to lose the excess weight I've been carrying around my entire life. With bariatric surgery, a complete lifestyle change to a low-carb diet, and 4-6 intense 5 am workouts weekly, I lost 110 pounds and have maintained the loss for two and a half years. This was ah-mazing! However, after two years of hard work and dedication, my body was still a saggy, floppy mess even after the incredible weight loss. I decided to go for a Mommy Makeover consultation at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery after following them on Instagram for about a year. I met with Dr. Halka, who was very thorough and took his time explaining everything, answering all of my questions, and addressing all of my concerns. I went on two other consultations in Huntsville, AL, and Chattanooga, TN as those locations are closer to my home, but ultimately, I chose Dr. Halka's plan for the procedure and recovery because it was the best. We decided on a 360 body lift with muscle repair and lipo, breast augmentation with 500 cc Mentor silicone implants placed above the muscle, and fat transfer to the buttocks. The procedure went smoothly with no complications, and I followed the post-op instructions to the letter. Now, 12 weeks post-op, I am incredibly happy with my results. Dr. Halka didn't just perform a Mommy Makeover, he created a whole new version of me. "Easy recovery and very satisfied with my results - Dr Hedden did a fantastic job in June of 2022 I had a plus size tummy tuck with lipo to flanks and upper abdomen as well as a breast augmentation. I had tuberous breast deformity and was scheduled to also have a lift at time of the original surgery. There is always a risk that they cannot complete the lift due to something I can’t recall. But I had 450 cc saline implants put in and my breast looked pretty awful due to my deformation. He released the bands and they settled in and turned out we could get away with not doing a lift but since they had stretched I could then do a swap to silicone and opted for 750 cc which look extremely natural. Having two surgeries to get them where I wanted was understandable and worth it. My recovery was easy just follow all instructions. I am very satisfied with my results."

The following appointments were pretty quick, and overall, the price was reasonable for what I had done. They were very straight forward about pricing and everything involved with the surgery. They also have good post surgery support, which I appreciated. I really liked that they have an after hours line for any problems you may have, and I could get in touch with an on call nurse who actually answers if I had any issues. I recommend them. I’m happy with how my body turned out, and the overall process was very organized and went smoothly."

"I highly recommend Dr Hedden. When I was considering having a tummy tuck to tighten loose skin, I had a lot of questions and wanted to make sure I chose the right doctor. I called a friend who previously worked for Dr. Hedden. She went on and on about what a skilled physician he was and how talented he was. When I went in for my consultation, he sat down and we discussed everything about the surgery and what I could expect post surgery. I had a lot of questions and he took plenty of time to answer them all. I even asked him about another procedure that I was curious about and he told me I didn’t need it. He didn’t try to make another sale, he simply said, “you don’t need that.” After we talked, I knew immediately, he was the doctor for me. The day of my surgery, I was a little nervous. "bbl review - I recently had surgery on 9/9/22. I had lipo 360 w/ BBL. After gaining some weight, I wasn't happy with my body anymore. Originally, I was only going to get lipo done but figured I might as well use the fat while I have it since it's going to lipoed off anyways. "BBL with dr.gunn - I had my BBL and 4 areas of lipo by Dr Gunn. I'm three weeks weeks post op. I'll start off by saying that I'm super happy with my results and I think Dr Gunn is an amazing surgeon! He's compassionate, he listens to what you want and is straight forward with helping you to be realistic about your surgery. He doesn't rush you. He listened to all my long list of questions. He gave me exactly what I wanted. The fact that you can text him with any questions is amazing as well. I highly recommend him. I saw Dr. hedden the next day after surgery, he was awesome as well. Both surgeons are kind and professional. I have no complaints and nothing negative to say about either surgeon.The only one negative experience with having my surgery at Hedden plastic surgery is the nurses. They are rude and are not just not kind and warm which is what you expect with a nurse. My pre op nurse was sweet, my post op nurse was terrible. She didn't help me at all it was actually the receptionist( with the British accent) that offered me water and crackers after surgery. my post op nurse was complaining that everyone left her, complaining about her children as well. (I don't know her name but shes middle aged with brown hair) This was while I was waking up after surgery. I did hear her say that Dr Gunn called to check on me so that made me feel better. They could use new nurses but overall my experience was positive. The surgeons are amazing so don't let the nurses stop you from having surgery with them."
"Awesome Tummy Tuck - I had an abdominoplasty May 28 and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was worth every penny and I would do it all over again. The patient coordinator (Heather) answered all of my questions and assured me I would be just fine and completely satisfied and boy was she right! Prior to my surgery I watched a lot of videos and read so many reviews. I was prepared for the worst pain however my experience was completely different. I go back next week to take stitches out of my BB and, hopefully, to get this other drain out.After the disappointment at the office, I decided to do a little retail therapy since I literally haven't been in real clothes in two weeks. It was much needed, but now I'm suffering from the swelling. Luckily, I don't have much to do tomorrow, so I can lay around and try to get rid of the swell hell."

I have researched surgeons for months and found one I'm very happy with, that even before I scheduled my surgery returned my emails, even on the weekends. (I didn't expect a response until Monday, but how amazing) Since I live out of state from my surgeon I have spoken with numerous helpful associates and I have an in person consultation on the 25th. My surgery is scheduled for the 26th and I am so absolutely excited/scared. I started my massages early about a week after my surgery I started massaging and I do massage more than what's even recommended because I really want a good outcome from this. With all the sagging I have I was offered who left as well but I decided against that and I just went with implants and I got a biplanar position sothe implants should move down and look natural I'm still waiting for them to completely drop and fluff. "A Couple Years of Weight Loss and Working Out, Tummy Tuck Time - I had lots of loose skin after losing around 60 lbs over several years. I had been working out pretty hard as well. So I contacted Dr. Hedden, who was close by and seemed to be reviewed well. The whole thing was quite a process for sure, but I can now say that it was absolutely worth it. It was a little over a year ago now and I continue to see things flattening out. I weighed 220 lbs going into the tummy tuck and I weigh 214 now. I'm still working towards the weight I was as an athlete in college. One thing I will mention is that a tummy tuck is a major procedure, it takes a long time to truly get back to normal with it. I felt a bit woozy mid day and sat for a little bit and felt better. My chest did feel really heavy today though, not painful, just heavy! I decided I needed to find a more supportive sports bra. I tried some at Target, Kohls, and then Ross before settling on a Puma sports bra that I'm not sure is the best fit but it's the best I could find. I knew going in to this that having a small rib cage and wanting tobe "so busty" was going to be a challenge when it came to clothing, bras, and bathing suits but the pros outweighed the cons! I have always had a large chest 34F at my largest size, but my weight has always fluctuated and the first thing to come or go with my weight was my breasts. And then after three kids and finally getting down to a size five...my poor deflated boobs could probably be rolled up to fit in to a C cup. Anyhow! I tried some clothes on for fun today while looking for a bra, and I always send pictures to my husband while he stands out and waits for me ;) ! Im definitely still swollen, my left side has dropped a little more than the right, but I'm still super happy with my results. I have sharp shooting pains occasionally but nothing horrible. I went back to my the gym today but didn't doing anything the made my arms or band strain. Dr. Hedden recommended I stay over night at a hotel close by because he wants to see me the following day.The staff and Dr. Hedden were all nice and they answered every question I had. My procedure was on April 11th had my first follow up on the following Thursday, April 12, 2018. The pain is at a low minimum, haven't taken any pain meds since last week. Drainage is a clear yellow fluid now, which is a good thing. I'm hoping Dr. Hedden will remove the drainage on my second follow-up, Tuesday, April 17, 2018. So far everything is healing well from my view. I'll post a few photos for now. Dr. Hedden and staff were awesome! Caring, Kind, Helpful, and Patient. I'm finally pleased to say, I've decided to go with Dr. William Hedden (Birmingham, AL). I've read his reviews, viewed pictures, and the location is fairly close to me (about 1 or 2 hours). "For many years I have wanted a nicely shaped derrière. I have run marathons, engaged in rigorous exercise routines, but no matter what I did, I was never able to attain the look I desired. I finally began looking at surgical alternatives, did a lot of research and decided the results I was looking for would probably require buttock augmentation. A consultation with Dr. Hedden confirmed this procedure would likely provide the results I desired. Below I will share a very brief story of my first 6 weeks post-operatively.
Days 1-7: This was a pretty uncomfortable time for me. I felt very, very sore and it was difficult to find a comfortable position. However, the pain medication and muscle relaxers made it bearable. Each day got a little better.
Days 8-14: Bandages off … able to see results so the discomfort has been worth it! By Day 14, I went back to work full-time (office type job). I am comfortable sitting at work; you don't sit on the implants as they are placed above the part of your "bottom" that touches a seat. And best of all, my bottom "feels" natural to the touch … you can't feel the implants from the outside! However, still sore at times.
Days 15-21: By the end of the third week I was able to fully return to all activities except exercise. Still sore at times, but rather than feeling "painful" it feels more like feels like I have worked out really hard on a Stairmaster.
Days 22-28: Main challenge has been to not "over-do-it." I feel great and want to work out. I tried to exercise a little but my body was just not ready. Don't cheat and do any exercise routine early. It is NOT worth it. I tend to be impatient; as a result I am a little frustrated that I am not back to 100%.
Days 29-35: Still a little sore, but gets better every day.
Days 36-42: The implants now feel like a natural part of my body and the result is absolutely what I wanted. I have returned to all activities that I engaged in pre-operatively. I still wear the same size clothing, but the fit is SO MUCH better. I am very pleased with how much better my favorite, worn-out jeans look :)"

I was pretty apprehensive about letting another PS touch me because the PA that did my breast reduction really did a [RS bleep] poor job. The only concern that i had is that he informed me that I could get lipo on my sides and back, which I had already had done with my procedure. After letting him know he informed he could do more and gave me a great price although I thought after spending my savings that I would be happier. I'm fine when I have on my garment, but I was fine with a garment on before. Now I have to decide if i will pay more money to hopefully get the look I was going for or just deal with what I got. Overall I am still completely satisfied with my bbl and my stomach. I knew going in he did not lipo your stomach when getting a tummy tuck. The staff was still friendly although they were really busy which may have explained why the doctor did not know exactly what I had done when I was there. If I decide to get the lipo I would like to go soon because I can feel myself getting a little depressed at times when I don't wear a shaper and i still have back rolls and love handles.Updated on 5 Jan 2018:I am still extremely pleased as far as my tummy tuck is concerned and even my bbl, but the lipo I am not as pleased with. I have scars on my back and still have fat rolls. I went back and was given a good deal if i wanted to come back to get lipo again on my back, sides, and stomach since he does not do lipo on the stomach when you get a tummy tuck. I spent most of my heeling reading thinking it could still be swelling but it is a year and my sides and back are not what i expected. If i waist train then my waist looks small, but if i go without, which I should be able to do by now its not. I'm a bit disappointed since I took over 11,000 out of my savings thinking i would have a really great body and still cant wear swimsuites."

"I am 28 year of age single mother living in Birmingham, Alabama. I am a nurse. I have always had a few problem areas on my hips that I just could not get to go away. I then saw some ads for smart liposuction.
I did my research and found a few doctors in Birmingham, Alabama that performed the procedure. A few were not even plastic surgeons and had their dogs in the office, just did not seem safe. Then a friend of mine told me to check out Dr. Hedden. I am so happy she did. They were so nice. The whole office was just so helpful.
I had the surgery at their surgery center and was there for about 2 hours. It was performed under local anesthetic and did not hurt at all. I have to admit I was very nervous that it was going to hurt but it did not, it was so easy. I was back to work the next day and had no signs of bruising.
I look great! I still cannot believe it did not hurt. I should have had it done even earlier. It was so worth it and very inexpensive.
I do believe my outcome was so good because I choose the right doctor. Do your research! Make sure they are a plastic surgeon and of course no dogs in the office. :)"
"I have been overweight all my life. I was 49 years old, weighed 289 lbs, and extremely depressed. My feet, legs, hips and especially my back hurt. I wore a size 22/24 and my feet swelled so that I could only wear one pair of dress shoes comfortably and without embarassment. I considered gastric bypass surgery for a couple of years and had just witnessed one of my best friends go through it with great success.
I made the decision to have the bypass surgery, lost 150 lbs and felt great. I was wearing a size 6-8 and looked pretty good in clothes.
I was very happy but the weight loss left my 50 year old body with a lot of excess skin. My breasts, which had previously been a 42 DDD, had become what my fiancé termed as "36 LONGS." I had nothing left but empty skin sacks. My abdomen also hung with loose skin. My legs were extremely horrible with a lot of loose skin and my arms had "bat-wings."
I made an appointment with Dr. Hedden to talk about having four procedures. He gave me the prices for tummy tuck, breast lift, leg lift and arm lift. My legs were what bothered me most and I called to schedule that procedure first. I'd had large breasts all my life and having just the breast lift would have left me with a full B/loose C cup. After talking with Dr. Hedden, I decided to go up one cup size. That is a decision I do not regret.
I had the tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation done in his office. The staff was wonderful and very professional. I was given a prescription for pain killers and muscle relaxers. My first night was spent in a hotel room so that I could be close to Dr. Hedden's office in case of an emergency. My fiancé stayed with me, helped me to the restroom and cared for me. I had mild discomfort but it was nothing like what had been described by other people who "knew someone who had had the surgery and couldn't move for 6 weeks." I did just what the doctor ordered and had very little discomfort even having both procedures at once. The staff at Dr. Hedden's office marveled at my recovery time.
I am now a happy 36D with a very flat tummy. I love my new body and have been able to shop at Victoria's Secret for more than just the lotions! I will be going back for the other two procedures (legs and arms). Maybe after that I will have a facelift … after all I am 51 years old now!

"Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift,lipo - Birmingham, AL - I flew for my surgery which was done July 13. I had several procedures done. Dr hedden is great only downside I felt was that he was always in a hurry or rushed. So he was in and out and didn't really take as much time with me the patient. Some of his nurses are new and clueless, while others are awesome and helpful. I week post op I started having excruciating pain on my right side by where the drain was, I made several trips back to Dr.Hedden's office but they couldn't find the source of the pain. One nurse even told me it's the price I have to pay for beauty. One nurse said she suspected I had an infection. I was in so much pain I was in tears. One of his nurses hurriedly came and did an ultrasound and said she couldn't see anything. I went back home with my excruciating pain surving on pain meds. That night I was in soooooo much pain my mom took me to the ER at Grandview, that's when they discovered I had an abscess right under my tummy tuck incision line. I called the on call nurse her name is WIN she was awesome, the ER doc was able to speak to DR. Hedden about my plan of care. They concluded for the ER to discharge me it was around 4am at this point and head to Dr. Hedden's office he would assist me. Dr Hedden also went by the ER to view my cat scan which showed the problem. When I got to his office his nurse Win and Dr. Hedden were there around 4:15am, they took excellent care of me. He drained the abscess and all I have to do now is clean and pack it, till it heals ( not fun) . Overall so far I can't say anything but positive things about Dr. Hedden. The wait times can be loooong and his front desk isn't the most helpful. I also feel some of his nurses especially the pre-op nurses aren't very knowledgeable or they are new nurses. His nurses in the surgical side are very Intilligent and know what they are doing. Overall I would still go back to Dr. Hedden if I needed more work done. The nurse WIn is awesome and she genuinely cares, about you the patient. There is one more nurse on the pre-op side who also genuinely care and helpful. The rest if I was to return I would say no if they were to help me. I'm happy with my procedures, just uncertain about my tummy tuck since it caused me so many issues and currently have an open wound on it. Lastly I got the infection on the side I had my drain, his nurse said I can shower on the 2nd day with my drain in, most surgeons don't let their pt's shower while the drain is in due to infection so I'm still confused about that since its 50:50. I'mFinally pain free, just had my dressing changed by the nurse Win. I feel so good, pain free I'm going for a mani pedi.??????????"
"Breast Implant Scar Revision with Dr. Hedden--one Year After Original Implant - Birmingham, AL - Breast augmentation/lift--revision on areolas 12 months after original surgery and liposuction to flanks. I'm very pleased with the result and pray my breasts maintain this appearance.I was scheduled to arrive for surgery at 10am and was called back around 12:30pm. After waking up in the recovery room, or being awakened by the amazing surgical nurse (Carol or Wynne or both) I was asked questions to make sure I was mentally stable to go home and given ice water because I indicated severe thirst. If you decide to have your surgery with Dr. Hedden or Dr. Schaffer, I hope you get Wynne or Carol for your surgical nurse. There are two other fantastic nurses in the office-- Penny and I'm afraid I don't recall the name of the other young nurse--sorry. Sherry and Meredith cover the reception area and both are amazing, beautiful people. Nicole, the surgical coordinator, is equally phenomenal. At my two week follow-up Dr. Hedden very gently removed the tape from my breasts and I was thrilled with the result. Yesterday I ran into a housekeeper at the hotel that I stayed in during my first surgery and she told me based on my urging her to do something for herself and my enthusiasm about Dr. Hedden, she had a tummy tuck with him and she's been referring other people to his office. I do love seeing an Alabama surgeon with such a diverse clientele and look forward to sending more patients to Hedden Plastic Surgery. "27-year-old Twin Mom Got Her Body Back! TT, Lipo, Breast Lift in March - Birmingham, AL - I considered writing a blog or doing a YouTube channel to document this journey, but then I realized I'd rather not make it so public. I really just want to document it so I can track my progress, connect with others who are going through this as well, and help inspire and support others. It looks like I found a great community for that! So here is my story: I'm a 27-year-old mom to 9-month-old identical twin girls. Prior to getting pregnant with them, I was in great shape, healthy, and had a great stomach & breasts- no complaints! I was 5'7 and 150lbs, but it was all very proportional (small waist, larger hips, big perky boobs.. ahh I miss that body). Fast forward to my pregnancy, during which I gained over 70lbs. I breastfed my girls for about 3 months, and after that, started working out and dieting to lose the weight. It look me a good 6 months to lose it all, but I did it! The problem I started noticing was that the more weight I lost, the worse my body looked. My stomach got smaller and skin started to sag. My breasts looked like deflated balloons, and the memory of my once hot body started to fade away... My right breast appears larger than my left, but I'm ok with it, and hope they even out as the implants settle. "The Most Real Review of Dr. Hedden in Birmingham, AL - So, here I am 4 months post-op and I am truly amazed by Dr. Hedden. Not only is he a brilliant surgeon, I am proof that he genuinely cares about his patients. I have probably been one of the worst, if not THE worst, patients he's ever had to deal with. I've had my feeling hurt when I felt ignored by his staff and posted a negative review because I transferred those feelings to Dr. Hedden. Two months while doing consultations with other plastic surgeons for a BBL, I began questioning the results of Dr. Hedden's work after another surgeon offered to "fix" my tummy tuck and liposuction (which doesn't need any fixing, btw). I have been absolutely horrible and Dr. Hedden has patiently corresponded with me via emails and phone calls. He insisted (in a very kind manner) that I come back to the office so he could check my incisions, offered post-op endermologie to help with swelling and urged me to share my before and after photos with the future President of the American Society of Plastic Surgery if I really believed he did a poor job on my tummy tuck. He also took the time to point out that no reputable surgeon should offer to do revision surgery after 3 months, something that I was aware of but was so upset after the other surgeon offered to "fix" my tummy and lipo that I just didn't think about the dates. The other surgeon was well aware that I had just had surgery 3 months earlier. I should note that my consultation was for a BBL and liposuction--NOT to question my tummy tuck results. Until that consultation I was perfectly happy. I had also had a photo consult with another surgeon who said they could improve my liposuction results, but to their credit they were not aware of my recent surgery.At any rate, I was so upset after that consultation that I immediately fired off an email to Dr. Hedden telling him I felt betrayed and felt he lied to me. Not very nice of me at all. Dr. Hedden was so gracious in his response and took the time to explain to me that there is no way I should be having revision surgery so soon. The tissue is still swollen and my incisions are still healing. He reminded me to come in for endermologie. I've been in Birmingham for two weeks so had one session last week and have another session scheduled for tomorrow. The endermologie helped tremendously!!I have to tell you ladies about Spa Greystone -- WOW! That place is absolutely amazing and I'm planning on going there for everything--botox, endermologie, massage, pedicures--they offer all services and the facility is elegant and relaxing. I ended up spending over $400 on facial products recommended by one of the aestheticians and my skin is already showing an improvement in one week's time.I still have swelling in my tummy when I don't wear a compression garment but I now understand that every person is different and I might have swelling for up to a year, maybe even longer. As long as I wear compression garments and keep doing massage and endermologie I feel and look great. I love my results and if by some rare chance I need any type of revision, the only surgeon I will trust is Dr. Hedden."

"Ever Since a 21 Hr Birth my Labia Have Left Me Feeling Very Insecure - Birmingham, AL - My first child took many hours to get out of me. Afterwards my vajayjay never looked quite the same. I felt very insecure about it. I also developed a hemorrhoid which makes me even further insecure. After my second child, which took 10 hours, my vajayjay and hemorrhoid looked even worse. My first husband (and children's father) would withhold sex from me and would tell me it was because I was ugly and disgusting. I also lost boobage and he would tell me that I was so unsexy. Even though, I lost boobage, they really didn't look that bad. I was still a perky 34B. I was 110 pounds after both kids, I had no stretch marks or anything.... We divorced within a year after the birth of my second child. I have wanted a labiaplasty for years not just because of my first husband's hateful and cruel words but because of my own insecurities And because of the pain I would have from exercise, riding bicycles, sex, clothes, etc., etc. (my kids are now teenagers). I remarried a little over two years ago to a wonderful man who made me feel good about myself and made me feel normal and who did not notice anything at all wrong with me. However, I still had my major insecurities in those areas. So, I recently had labiaplasty done and am undecided about the outcome of it. I think it looks great except for one spot. I am hoping I still have a little swelling but I think it is actually almost healed. Most of my stitches have already come out. It's been itching like crazy for the past couple of days. Clothes are an irritant and it's been hard finding something to wear to work that doesn't look frumpy because all I really want to wear are sweats!I have yet to get the hemorrhoid taken care of and didn't even bring it up with my surgeon but am hoping that at my next gynecologist visit I can bring it up to her and maybe get a procedure covered by insurance. I am really ready to feel sexy again! (Of course, I have gained some weight over the years and I need to drop about 20 lbs to get back into good shape again lol) I am determined to do that after I get my procedures done:)Labiaplasty and hemorrhoids, in my opinion, is one of the hardest things for women to talk about with anyone. It's even embarrassing to talk about it with a doctor and his staff. Absolutely no one knows that I have had this done except me, my doctor and his staff. My husband doesn't even know about the labiaplasty and he was the one with me to bring me home and take care of me after surgery... So this is my only outlet. I also had a breast augmentation done on the same day (under a different review.) My breasts look amazing and are fast healing as well:) I basically told my husband that he keeps his hands off of me for at least six weeks and that he will not even get a peek of my boobies because they have to go through some changes, etc. and he is totally respecting my privacy over it. Which, in turn, gives me my privacy regarding my vajayjay! I have no idea how I'll handle telling him about a hemorrhoid removal if/when I have it but I'll figure something out!"

Met twice, was very informative but not much help in suggesting sizes. He would rather leave it up to the patient, which is often difficult because we don't know what size will look good on our bodies. I went with the 400cc moderate plus with lollipop lift. Surgery went well, pain was minimal and recovered really quick. His staff is amazing! Very sweet and helpful, caring too. I am having problems now though, only 8 months pre op. My breasts are sagging, and the nipple is now below the fold again, back to where I started in Feb. I think they need some revisions made. I have scheduled my tummy tuck for October 30th, hoping Dr. Hedden will fix my breasts so that they have more upper pole fullness like I originally wanted. Was told I will probably need sutures to make the pocket smaller, and exchange implants for larger high profile.Updated on 14 Oct 2014:I'm getting anxious, having a few procedures at once. The tummy tuck is the one that I'm nervous about. I have seen so many positive results, just want to be on the flat side! I have 4 wonderful children, supportive husband, and a business to run. Taking a lot of time off is not in the game plan, but I need to do this. The hernia is affecting my health, the extra weight in the stomach area is also a problem. I just want to be able to wear a normal size and not feel self conscious about hiding my belly. I will also be doing lipo to the flanks, inner thighs, and under the bra strap area. I had a breast lift and augmentation in Feb of this year. I liked the look at first, but they have since fallen back to where they were. I opted for 400cc saline, under the muscle. They feel real, still have breast tissue, but I wanted the more rounder, upper pole like in last picture I posted. I hope to achieve that this time around with sewing up the pocket on the sides to push the implants toward the middle and not end up under my arms when I lie down, lol. I chose to have Dr. William Hedden do these procedures. Although he did the BA and lift, he is very thorough and knows his stuff! His staff is great, Tracy is my favorite. I am also utilizing the Exparel for pain, I have heard wonderful things about it. I have started a multi vitamin regiment and extra vitamin c too. I ordered Bromelain, Turmeric for pain and inflammation and Arnicare cream for swelling and bruising from Walgreens.com.Updated on 20 Oct 2014:Met with Dr. Hedden again on Thursday for pre-op appt. We are all set for TT with hernia repair, bilateral capsulorrhaphy (breast pocket revision), and lipo to flanks, inner thighs, back, and lateral breast area (under arms on bra line). I have also opted for the exparel for continuous pain relief in stomach area. I am so ready for this! Dr. Hedden is very assuring and I trust his expertise! I will start taking the Arnica Montana 7 days pre-op for bruising and muscle pain. I got it online at walgreens.com. Also will start Bromelain and Turmeric which reduces swelling after surgery. Got my Arnicare cream to rub on areas after lipo to reduce the bruising. I am now ordering new underwire bras that are to be worn day and night for at least 4 months to support the breast pocket revision. I also am stocking up on neosporin with pain relief for the TT incision...gauze pads....low sodium soups...protein shakes and vitamin water for at home. I will be sure to post post op pics when done! Wish me luck and say a prayer...see you all on the flat side!"

"AMAZING DOCTOR!!!!! Best Care You Can Receive! – Birmingham, AL - Dr. Hedden is the most amazing doctor! He really goes above & beyond to make you feel 100% comfortable with your decision and the entire surgery. I mostly spoke to Heather, the out of town coordinator to send my pictures & ask questions. Dr. Hedden did respond to my emails and pictures as well. I can tell that he gets a large volume of emails as he is answering them late at night in effort to respond back to everyone. I paid 4k for my augmentation and I chose marena silicone implants. I am thrilled with my results. I chose 550 cc and went from a size 36 B to size 36D. The scarring is minimal and they sit perfectly on my chest. The first week and half I was extremely sore from the surgery. The medication makes u think you can resume normal activities but they key is to take it slow and rest a lot. Even simple things like washing my hair was a challenge. After week 2 I was feeling much better and by week 3 I was fully recovered. After returning home (I only stayed in AL for 3 days post surgery than returned home to NY) I was experiencing pain and Dr. Hedden asked me to text him pictures so he could check my progress and reassured me to just take it easy and sure enough eh was right. It has been a little over a month since the surgery and I am VERY HAPPY! I highly recommend Dr. Hedden. He explained and answered all my questions to me and made me and my husband feel comfortable and confident about the surgery. Birmingham is a beautiful place. I was very nervous about travelling to a place I had never been but it very similar to long island. There are lots of shopping plazas that have everything you could need. By day 3 we visited the two malls in Hoover. (beautiful). Everything was inexpensive and easy to find. No issues what so ever, which is something I stressed & worried about leading up to my surgery. Dr. Heddens office is GORGEOUS and super modern. I even treated myself to some botox as it was inexpensive as well. I would def go back to Dr. Hedden after I have my kids for some liposuction and tummy tuck. Absolutely no regrets. People thought I was crazy when I told them I was travelling down south to have my surgery but here in NY they wanted to charged me 8500 for the same procedure. I only paid about 4k for silicone. An additional 1k for airfare for me & my husband (you do need a care giver), 3 days hotel stay and car rental and meals and medication. I saved about 3500 flying down south and had the best care & the amazing results. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!!"

Had Tummy Tuck, Gyno Removal,and Some Lipo - Birmingham, AL - Well, I used to be in very good shape, then gained quite a bit of weight, lost it rapidly, and since then, no matter what I did or how good of shape I was in, I was stuck with loose skin, and also a minor case of gynecomastia. I still need to lose some weight, but had to get this over withI booked a date a few weeks ago for the 15th, after reading many reviews of dr hedden. Everything went very smooth, and the price compared to ny was also substantial.The facility is quite impressive, and everything is run very smoothly. The first 2 days after surgery were pretty rough, but other than that, I feel okay. The chest looks just like I wantedI do notice one issue thiugh even with my compression garments on. I had a decent amount of stretchmarks, and I knew that any mark over the bb would not bevremoved, but that it would be placed much lower after the surgery.I have 2 marks now that somehow are exactly the same as before, not any lower.. I don't know if this is normal, but definitely not thrilled about this. i mean, i felt it, and just looked at it, and the mark has not gone down at all... I don't know what can be done, or if it's a part of swelling,etc, but I don't think it is. I have to admit it it's bothering me quite a bit, expected it to be lower than bb, and still the same as before. I'll see dr hedden tomorrow, so will get an answer thenOther than that, I feel well, and result should be very good, dr hedden said it looked very very good. "34 Years Old, Male, Dr Hedden. Had Tummy Tuck, Gyno Removal,and Some Lipo - Birmingham, AL - Well, I used to be in very good shape, then gained quite a bit of weight, lost it rapidly, and since then, no matter what I did or how good of shape I was in, I was stuck with loose skin, and also a minor case of gynecomastia. I still need to lose some weight, but had to get this over withI booked a date a few weeks ago for the 15th, after reading many reviews of dr hedden. Everything went very smooth, and the price compared to ny was also substantial.The facility is quite impressive, and everything is run very smoothly. "Implant Exchange and Tummy Tuck - Birmingham, AL - Although Dr. Hedden did not do my original BA, I had heard about him from a friend that had hers exchanged and loved him. So I called for an appointment for myself and my daughter that was wanting a BA. We had no problem getting an appointment and being seen by Dr. Hedden, and ultimately scheduled surgery within the next 10 days. The nurses and staff were very informative and assisted in any way possible. Carol a nurse there even helped me get an appointment with a MD to get clearance for surgery. "TUBA Boob Implants 385CC Under the Muscle - Birmingham, AL - I received under the muscle saline implants (385CC) via the TUBA incision. I had initially planned on getting silicone through the armpit using a Keller funnel. But, silicone requires a larger incision and I am prone to scarring. Besides, even if my implants do deflate, replacements can also be done via TUBA as well (in most cases....my doctor advised me of this). I already had a scar in my navel due to a tummy tuck so the plastic surgeon just went in through the same scar. So, I have no *new* scars by choosing saline. The thing about saline that really bugged me at first is the fact that if they did deflate, I would have one flat breast. But, Mentor has a warranty for replacement implants and will also give you up to $1200 in doctors fees to have them replaced. And with the $1500 I saved by using saline combined with the warranty, I have more than enough money in my booby emergency fund to replace my saline implants if I ever need to. No matter whether you get saline or silicone, breast implants are not lifetime devices anyway. I did not want to spend a lot of money on silicone and then hate them and feel that implants are not for me. I did not want to spend too much money on my first surgery--because, let's face it, if you have implants, you are likely going under the knife again for replacements and revisions due to aging, breastfeeding, rupture etc. They say silicone feels more natural. But, I am not in a sexual relationship right now anyway so I don't care about that. If I do get into a relationship, it certainly will not be with a man who is whiny enough to complain about how my saline implants feel! I am a thin woman...any man with eyes can see that. And thin women rarely have huge natural boobs because fat is a big component of boobs. If a man is too dimwitted to understand that, then I do not want to be with him anyway.I am a big geek....I actually sat down with a pen and piece of paper and wrote out a list of pros and cons between my two choices (saline TUBA versus silicone through the armpit). Cost was not an issue for me. And even then, saline won out. Everyone is different and I advise anyone considering breast implants to do a list of pros and cons when it comes to which doctor to choose and which implant material to choose. If I did not already have a belly button scar from a tummy tuck, maybe silicone would have won out on my "pros and cons" list. The day after surgery was rough....my stomach was killing me. But, now I feel a lot better. Waking up, your boobs feel heavy and hard. But, it is getting easier to move around. TUBA recovery is a lot easier than the armpit recovery and plus there are no tell tale scars on my boobs. I am very happy with TUBA. When they drop and fluff, I will be even happier!"

I have started a new job and added a second job to my belt as well! I have finally chose a doctor for my procedure. I am going with Dr. Hedden. I have weighed all options, concerns, etc. and he is the best option. I have researched him and have received nothing but good feedback on him. My sx is scheduled for the 17th of January. I will be getting liposuction to the upper/lower back, flanks, and upper/lower abdomen w/fat graft to my buttocks. I am so excited and will post pics as soon as I am able to. It would be helpful if the women who have had this procedure give me some helpful advice on what I should/should not do and supplies that are good for healing.
