"After losing almost a hundred pounds, I was left with extremely loose, sagging skin, and after consulting with three plastic surgeons, I decided to go with Dr. Halka. He is exceptionally kind and patient with all my questions and concerns, and I am so happy I chose him as my surgeon. He did my brachioplasty (arm lift) and breast lift 7 weeks ago, and I am thrilled with my results. My scars look fantastic, and I honestly can’t believe how wonderfully everything is healing. I’ve had zero problems or complications. Dr. Halka will be performing my next two surgeries, a lower body lift and a thigh lift, in the coming months, and I have no worries about my care and comfort in his hands. The nurses and staff at Hedden and Gunn have also all been extremely helpful and friendly. "Dr. Halka and his staff at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery in Birmingham, AL are AWESOME. After loosing 86 pounds, I had the lower body lift, arm lift, breast lift and augmentation procedures. Dr. Halka is a surgical sculptor who turned my body from a large ugly rectangle with lots of hanging skin; into a body with a beautiful shape and a waist. I am extremely happy with my body. "I have had three surgeries with Dr. Halka @ Hedden & Gunn. A lower body lift w/bbl in 03/2024 a breast lift w/ implants 07/2024 and an upper body lift 12/2024. I lost over 119 pounds with diet and exercise, I maintained the weight loss for two years and then started considering cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. My first consult was with a surgeon in Miami. I was nervous but paid a deposit then I thought perhaps I find a Doctor near where I live, which led me to Hedden and Gunn. I did a virtual consultation with Dr. Halka he was very thorough explaining every option in detail and even including photos of results from each surgery, He then recommended what he thought would be my best option. I then decided to meet with him in person and I could not be more glad that I did, with surgery there are many ups and downs but the care I have received by everyone at this facility has been beyond what I could have ever expected. I have said many times that I am so glad that I decided to have my surgery locally and not out of state (in my case) I am sure many surgeries go off without a hitch but to have the clinic and staff close by for any and every concern I have had has been the best option for me. I absolutely love my results, I could not have ever imagined better results even if I tried!"
"I had a pain free recovery - Scheduled my consult with Dr. Fontana at Hedden & Gunn in Birmingham, Alabama because she took the time to call me and talk through my concerns. I had previously committed to a different surgeon but wasn't 100% confident that he was the surgeon for me. After talking with Dr. Fontana I moved my surgery to Hedden & Gunn. She performed a breast lift, breast implants, Labiaplasty, fat grafting to the labia majoras and a TCA peel under my eyes while I was under general anesthesia. I had a pain free recovery. Some swelling and tightness, which was expected, but no pain. I feel like Dr. Fontana's skills are so good that she did my surgeries so well that it has allowed me to heal fast and feel good the entire time. She is super sweet and patient also. I would follow her all over the country!Updated on 23 Mar 2024:Feeling amazing! I was cleared for light workouts at 3 weeks. My scars are not scary! This has been such a confidence booster. I haven’t purchased new bras yet but I’m having fun filling out my current wardrobe!! "

"Tummy tuck/muscle repair and breast lift - I feel really good! - I’m 8 days PO and I must say, I feel really good! My recovery is not at all what I expected. I was terrified of being in excruciating pain and being helpless! The first day was kinda crazy because I was so doped up, so that was a blur. Day 2 was much better, I slept in my own bed, glad I didn’t go a get a recliner, but I guess it works for some.I’m an active person with being a group fitness instructor, so I really think that helped me out a lot. I had no real pain, just discomfort, and by day 4, I was pretty much self sufficient, I no longer need help with getting up and down, I was caring for my own incisions, emptying my drains (which I hate), and taking showers on my own!I did a lot of praying not to be helpless, even though my hubby and family were there if I needed them, I did what I could on my own. I took a while but I got it done! I still have swelling and the drain sites are irritating but I’m staying in my garment most all day. No problems at all with my breast, I’m so pleased with them.My doctor and his staff were excellent and made me feel special, he made me feel like he took pride in giving me what I wanted, so Kudos to Dr. Gunn and staff! I’m definitely glad I did it just hate I didn’t do it sooner. Today I cooked, washed clothes, and did light housework. I go back on Thursday, at that time I hope they remove the drains, so I can get back to life! No pics yet but I’ll have my doctor email them so I can share."
