"I had nothing but a great experience! - I had a breast augmentation with Dr. Hedden 05/07/24. From the virtual consult (I’m an out of state pt) forward I had nothing but a great experience! Their out of town coordinator, Heather, is such a pleasure and does her job very well! I had consults at other practices but no one made me feel as if they were confident in their ability to give me what I wanted except for Dr. Hedden. I’m 4 weeks post op and only wish I had done this sooner!! As a 37yr old mom of 3, my breast volume had decreased. Dr. Hedden has given me a great deal of confidence in my body. I’m able to actually fill out to top part of a bra now! So when you have previous deflating from breast feeding or weight loss, you tend to drop a little faster since the loose skin is more able to adapt to the implant versus tight skin. My incisions are pretty unnoticeable from a glance. Hats off to my surgeon for that. I’m healing great and I’m looking forward to seeing my final results. More updates next week! "A Whole New Me! - What a life-changing experience with Dr. Halka! As a 45-year-old woman, wife, and mother, I finally realized that taking care of myself IS taking care of my family. I decided to put myself and my health first for a change and set a goal to lose the excess weight I've been carrying around my entire life. With bariatric surgery, a complete lifestyle change to a low-carb diet, and 4-6 intense 5 am workouts weekly, I lost 110 pounds and have maintained the loss for two and a half years. This was ah-mazing! However, after two years of hard work and dedication, my body was still a saggy, floppy mess even after the incredible weight loss. We decided on a 360 body lift with muscle repair and lipo, breast augmentation with 500 cc Mentor silicone implants placed above the muscle, and fat transfer to the buttocks. The procedure went smoothly with no complications, and I followed the post-op instructions to the letter. Now, 12 weeks post-op, I am incredibly happy with my results. Dr. Halka didn't just perform a Mommy Makeover, he created a whole new version of me. "I had a pain free recovery - Scheduled my consult with Dr. Fontana at Hedden & Gunn in Birmingham, Alabama because she took the time to call me and talk through my concerns. I had previously committed to a different surgeon but wasn't 100% confident that he was the surgeon for me. After talking with Dr. Fontana I moved my surgery to Hedden & Gunn. She performed a breast lift, breast implants, Labiaplasty, fat grafting to the labia majoras and a TCA peel under my eyes while I was under general anesthesia. I had a pain free recovery. Some swelling and tightness, which was expected, but no pain. I feel like Dr. Fontana's skills are so good that she did my surgeries so well that it has allowed me to heal fast and feel good the entire time. She is super sweet and patient also. I would follow her all over the country!Updated on 23 Mar 2024:Feeling amazing! I was cleared for light workouts at 3 weeks. My scars are not scary! This has been such a confidence booster. "Belt lipectomy - results 6 weeks post-op are amazing, very caring - My treatment listed here is for a Tummy Tuck because what I actually had isn't listed as a treatment.I was referred to Heddn & Gunn Plastic Surgery by a former patient, and when I went in for the consultation, it was originally for a tummy tuck. After meeting with Dr. Gunn and talking about what I wanted, he was very informative about my particular body issues, made some recommendations, and I wound up having a Belt Lipectomy. The results, six weeks post-op, are amazing. I look in the mirror and I can't believe what I see. What I got was so much more than I expected, and I cannot be happier with the results.Also, the entire staff at the clinic is kind and caring. I got phone calls the first few weeks to check on me, and during my visits, or if I called the clinic - no question was "too much" or met with anything but all the information I asked for and more.I would definitely recommend Dr. Gunn and this clinic!"

"I have been wanting this every since I had my baby last August. I had diastasis recti so I still looked pregnant months after and my boobs were sagging. I originally wanted to do it in Atlanta but could not get away. I researched all the surgeons here in Birmingham and Dr Gunns office had some of the best reviews. He is very sweet and personable. I am happy with my results. I do still have swelling so being patient. I also think I will need revision surgery due to the dog ears. I will see what he says when I go back in February. Will have to try again to upload before picsUpdated on 13 Dec 2022:These are my before pics. You can see I look pregnant and my babies are saggy. I hated the way my clothes looked. I felt like I always needed spanx. I was a C but was not a full C because of the sagging. I went to a full C. At times I do wish I would have gone bigger but I'm happy."

"Had 7 consultations and he is the surgeon I felt most comfortable with - Dr Gunn and Team were/are amazing. I have had little to no pain, I am 3 weeks post opt today. "Finally Got my Breasts Done !! I'm So Happy ! - I finally got my breast augmentation after wanting it for yearsss. I paid for my surgery in April .. Scheduled it in Birmingham, Alabama for July 23rd. The day of surgery was pretty smooth. I was nervous but the anesthesia knocked me out within minutes ! It wasn't as bad as most people said it would be. Just a lot of tightness and pressure. I went with 550CC on the left and 525CC on the right. Before surgery, I was either a 32DD OR A 34D. NOW I'm either a 36DDD or a 38DD. My only Advice is if u want your breasts done DO IT ! IT IS SOO WORTH IT. If u do decide to do it , get plenty of rest! Take someone with u that u can definitely depend on to help u . Let people help u! I will update u guys as time passes. Also, if u want to go the affordable way and get really good results , I would refer my doctor . Doctor Gunn or Doctor Hidden at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. I started sleeping on my side about a couple weeks ago . My breasts definitely have dropped tremendously. Up until about a week ago , my breasts were extremely swollen (especially the right one).. but it gets better with time . Time definitely makes a huge difference & I am in love ! "Finally Got my Breasts Done !! I'm So Happy ! - I finally got my breast augmentation after wanting it for yearsss. I paid for my surgery in April .. Scheduled it in Birmingham, Alabama for July 23rd. The day of surgery was pretty smooth. I was nervous but the anesthesia knocked me out within minutes ! It wasn't as bad as most people said it would be. Just a lot of tightness and pressure. I went with 550CC on the left and 525CC on the right. Before surgery, I was either a 32DD OR A 34D. NOW I'm either a 36DDD or a 38DD. My only Advice is if u want your breasts done DO IT ! IT IS SOO WORTH IT. If u do decide to do it , get plenty of rest! "Tummy tuck/muscle repair and breast lift - I feel really good! - I’m 8 days PO and I must say, I feel really good! My recovery is not at all what I expected. I was terrified of being in excruciating pain and being helpless! The first day was kinda crazy because I was so doped up, so that was a blur. Day 2 was much better, I slept in my own bed, glad I didn’t go a get a recliner, but I guess it works for some.I’m an active person with being a group fitness instructor, so I really think that helped me out a lot. I had no real pain, just discomfort, and by day 4, I was pretty much self sufficient, I no longer need help with getting up and down, I was caring for my own incisions, emptying my drains (which I hate), and taking showers on my own!I did a lot of praying not to be helpless, even though my hubby and family were there if I needed them, I did what I could on my own. I took a while but I got it done! I still have swelling and the drain sites are irritating but I’m staying in my garment most all day. No problems at all with my breast, I’m so pleased with them.My doctor and his staff were excellent and made me feel special, he made me feel like he took pride in giving me what I wanted, so Kudos to Dr. Gunn and staff! I’m definitely glad I did it just hate I didn’t do it sooner. Today I cooked, washed clothes, and did light housework. "BBL with dr.gunn - I had my BBL and 4 areas of lipo by Dr Gunn. I'm three weeks weeks post op. I'll start off by saying that I'm super happy with my results and I think Dr Gunn is an amazing surgeon! He's compassionate, he listens to what you want and is straight forward with helping you to be realistic about your surgery. He doesn't rush you. He listened to all my long list of questions. He gave me exactly what I wanted. The fact that you can text him with any questions is amazing as well. I highly recommend him. I saw Dr. hedden the next day after surgery, he was awesome as well. Both surgeons are kind and professional. I have no complaints and nothing negative to say about either surgeon.The only one negative experience with having my surgery at Hedden plastic surgery is the nurses. They are rude and are not just not kind and warm which is what you expect with a nurse. My pre op nurse was sweet, my post op nurse was terrible. She didn't help me at all it was actually the receptionist( with the British accent) that offered me water and crackers after surgery. my post op nurse was complaining that everyone left her, complaining about her children as well. (I don't know her name but shes middle aged with brown hair) This was while I was waking up after surgery. I did hear her say that Dr Gunn called to check on me so that made me feel better. They could use new nurses but overall my experience was positive. The surgeons are amazing so don't let the nurses stop you from having surgery with them."

Will keep you updated!Updated on 4 Apr 2020:I’m 7 weeks post op. The surgery went well. The first week was torture. It was awful. After that everything was cool. My follow ups were cool. Dr. Gunn and his staff were really kind. I wasn’t expecting a huge transformation because I was a thin woman to began with. My first week out of surgery my results were just amazing. I still look at the pics in my phone just to reminisce. However, we the swelling went down, so did my excitement. Lol. I still look good, just not much different than I did before. My friends all say they can’t see where anything was done. Which for some can be a good thing! Right now I’m working on picking up more weight. Hopefully that will help everything look more pronounced. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just take the L but I’m definitely not considering a round 2. As far as experience is concerned, it was great. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I had a revised breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and lipo.I had my surgery on 8/10/19. I spent the night in Birmingham the night before my surgery and the night of my surgery so we didn't have to get up as early the morning of the surgery. I had very little anxiety the night before. It was more excitement. We got to the surgery center and were called back in a reasonable amount of time. They began prepping me and I went back within about an hour of arriving (I was the first patient that day). I went in the OR and the next thing I know I'm waking up to go back to the hotel. I was in some pain and could not stand upright, naturally. I highly recommend the Exparel shot - worth the extra money. My husband had my meds filled and kept my meds coming on schedule, day and night, for the first few days to stay "on top of" the pain. My recovery has been pretty unremarkable, but I am 10 days out and I am having so much hypersensitivity. I seem to be having a pity party today. Luckily I have read that this is somewhat normal, which makes me feel better. :) My skin literally hurts! I called and they said that was normal and would go away with time. The drains are also on my last nerve (hopefully will come out Sept 4 - 2 weeks is enough!). They are hurting more than anything else. I go back next week to take stitches out of my BB and, hopefully, to get this other drain out.After the disappointment at the office, I decided to do a little retail therapy since I literally haven't been in real clothes in two weeks. It was much needed, but now I'm suffering from the swelling. Luckily, I don't have much to do tomorrow, so I can lay around and try to get rid of the swell hell."

"Amazing! - I had weight loss surgery in 2012 and I lost over 200 pounds and surprisingly I lost all self confidence. My breast were nothing but hanging skin and I was not happy with how I looked without clothes on. I was ashamed of how I looked. I didn't feel like a woman anymore. I had debated on having breast augmentation for years. I was worried something bad would happen and I would come out botched. I was worried about the price and how I could pay for it. While there I asked to see pictures of some of his work (Bbl’s), but he blew me off and asked me to email him and he would send some. We ended the consultation and his nurse gave me the cost. I emailed him as soon as I got in my car in his office parking lot...that was a Monday. I waited a couple days but he didn't reply, so I emailed him again on Wednesday...still no reply. I waited through the weekend and no reply, so I emailed a third time the following Monday..still no reply from Dr. Gunn. Needless to say he’s not the doctor that should do my BBL...disappointing to say the least.Updated on 29 Jun 2019:Since my initial post, Dr. Gunn reached out to me via email and left me his cell number. "operation mommy makeover/ideal implant ; 32 yrs old, 5’7, 130 lbs - 34AA w/ diastasis recti - Yesterday I had my first consultation ever. It was not all what I anticipated . The surgeons bedside manner was terrible . I felt as if the surgeon was trying to sway my decision rather than provide me with options . I didn’t get the chance to try or feel any implants . The vectra machine (takes 3D images) was broken. I paid $100 for this consultation and drove 3 hours for them to tell me that I’m a good candidate for a high profile boob job and I have diastasis recti and would need a tummy tuck. Oh and they provided me with my before photos. Needless to say I’m back going back the drawing board."
"Good experience - Dr. Gunn was very nice and answered my long list of questions at our consultation. I went for a BBL, I was very nervous thinking about surgery and risks but he made me feel me comfortable after meeting with him. I decided to schedule the surgery and had it done on 4/20. I thought I would have really bad anxiety that day but I didn’t. When I got there I filled out a little paperwork then was called back. A nurse took before pictures and shortly after Dr. Gunn went over the surgery and made drawings on me. The nurse started my IV and I spoke with the anesthesiologist who was very nice, he put some medicine in my IV and walked me to the OR. I got on the table, took a few breaths from an oxygen mask and I was out! I’ve had a few questions for him throughout my recovery and he has been very easy to get ahold of and I will be seeing him again soon for my 2 week post op appointment! So far, I’m happy with my results. I have a flat tummy and although I wish my butt and hips were a bit bigger, I didn’t have as much fat I had hoped to graft there."
