"I had my surgery on February 6 with doctor Gunn.. he’s very nice and talked to me and my husband.. We went over what I was expecting and what size I was needing.. his bed side matters are on point he’s very generous, gentleman.. very kind and good looking lol… he told me with my size I wouldn’t want to go to big but go with what would be a good size for my body so i went with 400 cc that made me C cup and I’m glad I didn’t go any bigger my top still needs to stench out.. but over all I am so glad I didn’t go to any other surgeon.. if I send him a message he answers me in a timely matter… love hedden and Gunn.. "After losing almost a hundred pounds, I was left with extremely loose, sagging skin, and after consulting with three plastic surgeons, I decided to go with Dr. Halka. He is exceptionally kind and patient with all my questions and concerns, and I am so happy I chose him as my surgeon. "Dr. Joshua Halka is an amazing surgeon. I went in knowing what I wanted and Dr. Halka delivered. He gave me exactly what I was hoping for. I went in for a breast augmentation and showed him a picture of exactly what I wanted and he made it happen. I've never felt more myself than I do now thanks to him and his wonderful team. Every question I asked was answered. I live out of state and the whole process was so easy and fluid. I am from out of town so i did my initial consultation with Heather virtually. She is amazing and answered all questions I had leading up to surgery. "Excellent Surgeon; Excellent Results - Dr. Halka did an outstanding job replacing my 15-year-old saline breast implants. I researched extensively before selecting a surgeon. I was dealing with one of the 15-year-old implants having suddenly ruptured and deflated. I was concerned that this might cause complications and less-than-ideal results with the replacement; therefore, I wanted an exceptionally-skilled surgeon. I considered surgeons in Huntsville, Nashville, and Birmingham. After my consultation with Dr. Halka, I was confident that he was the right choice. It was clear to me that he had the knowledge, skill, and experience I was seeking in a surgeon. My impression was right! He did a great job. "Life changing difference - I searched for a long time for someone to do a thigh lift. I had lost a significant amount of weight and wanted my thighs to look…better. I had no expectations of being model perfect but just better was good enough for me! I emailed Dr. Halka and he responded! I had emailed numerous other Doctors but no responses except from Dr. Halka. I made my appointment and paid for surgery and in January my life was changed for the better, way beyond my expectations! Believe it or not I didn’t take 1pain pill!! I was amazed that he laid the medication protocol out and found that the Tylenol, Advil, and muscle relaxers handled the pain perfectly! Now my surgery due to the vast amount of skin removed wasn’t without complications, (opening of incision and fluid buildup) but I am so pleased! Thank you Dr. Halka and your wonderful staff! "2 days Post Breast Augmentation - I'm on day 2 of recovery from my breast augmentation. It's honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. The only parts that suck are feeling like potato( you literally can't do anything), and that the muscle relaxers make you super sleepy. Stopped taking the pain meds i was prescribed and switched to Tylenol because I didn't like the way Norcos made me feel. My chest feels sore and tight and still very swollen. But this is all to be expected. Dr. Hedden at Hedden and Gunn plastic surgery center was amazing. All of the staff did a great job with me. It was an all around amazing experience. I started out at large A/small B and asked to be a D. He did 450cc on each side. Smooth, round, high profile silicone. More updates to come! *they look shiny because I've been applying vitamin E to try to prevent stretch marks *Updated on 25 Apr 2024:Dropping more and more everyday. Liking the results so far. Still a little sore and swollen. Feeling to the nerves becomes more painful by the day and it’s causing a bit of discomfort but nothing major. Usually subsides by week 3. "2 days Post Breast Augmentation - I'm on day 2 of recovery from my breast augmentation. It's honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. The only parts that suck are feeling like potato( you literally can't do anything), and that the muscle relaxers make you super sleepy. Stopped taking the pain meds i was prescribed and switched to Tylenol because I didn't like the way Norcos made me feel. My chest feels sore and tight and still very swollen. But this is all to be expected. Dr. Hedden at Hedden and Gunn plastic surgery center was amazing. All of the staff did a great job with me. It was an all around amazing experience. I started out at large A/small B and asked to be a D. He did 450cc on each side. Smooth, round, high profile silicone. More updates to come! *they look shiny because I've been applying vitamin E to try to prevent stretch marks *Updated on 25 Apr 2024:Dropping more and more everyday. Liking the results so far. "Dr. Hedden and staff were amazing! Dr Hedden did a full breast revision fixing my botched breast lift/implant procedure I had from another doctor. The whole experience was wonderful. All the nurses were super friendly and helpful and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. They brought me warm blankets while I was in the pre-op room! The anesthesiologists were super gentle and nice enough to numb my arm before the IV. Dr Hedden was very knowledgeable and did a great job at explaining what the best option was for my desired outcome. Surgery went great. We are from out of town so we stayed at a hotel nearby and went back the next morning for my post-op check up. There was a small issue with the placement of my implant combined with a fluid pocket. Dr Hedden tried to drain the fluid but it didn’t work. He was very kind and encouraging that I could wear compression for a few days and if it didn’t fix it to come back and he would fix it! I had the BLISS insurance so there was no additional cost at all. Even though the fluid pocket went down substantially, I still wanted him to fix it and make it absolutely perfect. I still have some numbness but I’m a type 1 diabetic so I assume mine just take longer to fully heal but I have enough sensation back that I’m not too worried about it. "I went for a consultation with Dr. Halka on 10/25 2023 because in my mammogram report one of my 34 year old breast implants was leaking silicon. Dr. Halka spent time with my husband and I and explained all of the different options I had. He answered all of our questions and had a very caring and knowledgeable presence about himself that my husband and I felt good about. I chose to have a capsulectomy with silicone implant replacement. Dr. Halka help me feel very confident about my decision and I was happy about having a choice in my care. He explained the complexity in the surgery in depth with us and let us know that I would probably need a breast lift that I could have 6 weeks after the capsulectomy. "Easy recovery and very satisfied with my results - Dr Hedden did a fantastic job in June of 2022 I had a plus size tummy tuck with lipo to flanks and upper abdomen as well as a breast augmentation. I had tuberous breast deformity and was scheduled to also have a lift at time of the original surgery. There is always a risk that they cannot complete the lift due to something I can’t recall. But I had 450 cc saline implants put in and my breast looked pretty awful due to my deformation. He released the bands and they settled in and turned out we could get away with not doing a lift but since they had stretched I could then do a swap to silicone and opted for 750 cc which look extremely natural. Having two surgeries to get them where I wanted was understandable and worth it. My recovery was easy just follow all instructions. I am very satisfied with my results."

"38B to 40DD - 3 weeks post 600cc, HP, silicone, Mentor - I had four children, breast fed and lost a lot of weight in the process. My weight would always fluctuate so that left me with REALLY droopy and uneven breast. I was always embarrassed of my breast and would never wear a swim top or anything due to them making me so insecure. I researched breast implants near me and several came up but one just kept coming up in every search, Hedden Plastic Surgery. I researched the center and did a virtual consult with Dr. Hedden, where I sent pictures of my then breast and told him what I wanted. It took him a few days to respond because he answers the emails personally, but he was Very informative on what my body needed and how it would look. After talking with friends, I ended up having 5 friends whom had used him . He suggested a lift but I was terrified with the scars. I went ahead and made an appointment and paid my fees. I went in about a week later and met with him. He looked at my body and educated me on the process and everything I needed to know. "All I Could Wish For! - So I actually found Dr.Hedden while researching surgeons down south as a lot of girls tend to get surgery in FL. I came across him and for the price and reviews I saw I figured it was worth scheduling a consult. Shortly after my consult and some discussion I made up my mind to get 525cc Natrelle Saline Implants, Inframmary Incision, and no lift. "Weight Loss Led To Bigger Breasts - I recently used Hedden Plastic Surgery for breast enhancement surgery. My doctor was Dr. Hedden, himself. I specifically chose him for this surgery because he was my surgeon in 2007, when he performed a full abdomenoplasty. I was very happy with the results. I was five years out of gastric bypass at the time and I had lost 110lbs. My weight then was 155. My weight now is 162. So, I have kept the weight off. However, my breasts were never very big - even when I weighed 240lbs. When I lost the weight, I also lost almost all of the volume that I DID have in my boobs. From the virtual consult, I explained what I wanted he listened and made the best choice. I am 1 day post op and I fucking love them. The surgery was a breeze, the lady who helped me in recovery was amazing she told me her name but I was still out of it. Pain is bearable for me ( I had a horrible c-section) so this is nothing compared to that. Getting up is a challenge but overall I’m in love and I honestly hope he knows how much this has helped me mentally. "So surgery is set - I've been wanting to go to doctor Hedding for awhile, back in 2019 I did a consult and then didn't follow through. He set me up with the IV that I would need for surgery and told me he would see me soon Awhile later Hedden came in to mark me up and confirm size the size we were going for and to go over last minute questions. Then I waited for almost two hours to be taken to the ORMy anesthesiologist came back took me to the OR room and gave me an injection next thing I know I was waking up to some Gatorade and getting my blood pressure checked. The whole process was easy and I felt so comfortable! Not one time did I feel nervous. The pain isn’t bad either I guess it’s because I didn’t get a lift. Dr Hedden and his team were everything I could have hoped for. I, like most, had a million questions before and after my surgery and never was I made to feel I was bothering anyone. "Mommy got new boobies! - Hi! I'm 31 years old, 5,5" and 190 pounds. I breastfed two children and had deflated 38Cs to start. I dreamed of having breast augmentation for years and years. I really was looking to fill in the tissue I had. My hope is a full DD or even a DDD. I started with slight sagging, and was told by 2 surgeons before that I needed a lift. I was not ready for the scars of a lift so Dr. Hedden and I decided that a larger implant and over the muscle would be best to achieve the look I wanted. "My name is Leigh and I am 30 years old. Prior to motherhood, I was not overly concerned with my breast size (34 small-B). However, two children later and many pounds lighter, I found that my breasts had virtually disappeared (34 A). Shirts simply hung on me. I spent several years feeling self conscious about my small breasts and simply not feeling good about how I looked. I wanted larger breasts. I wanted to feel more confident about my appearance.
My husband was extremely supportive. He understood that I felt self conscious about my body and wanted me to feel better about myself. He scheduled my first consultation. One week before my scheduled visit, I cancelled the appointment.
A few months after my cancelled appointment, he scheduled another consultation for me. The physician and his nurses were extremely nice and patient with me. I spent a great deal of time trying on the sizers in the attempt to try and determine what size would be best for me. (I'm 5'2" and weigh 105 lbs.) I was extremely concerned about choosing the right size and the surgeon was extremely helpful in this matter. Based on my wants and body size, he helped me decide on the perfect size for me. I went from a size 34 A to 34 full C. (My implants are saline and were placed submuscular with the incision under the breast.)
On the day of surgery, I was extremely nervous. I met with the Nurse Anesthetist to discuss anesthesia. He met my expectations to a "T".
Upon waking up from surgery, I really wasn't prepared for the type of pain I experienced. While I did have incisional pain, the tightness, swelling and muscle pain was much more intense. Pain medications helped, but the muscle relaxer and ice packs were my best friends. The top of my breasts (or the swelling) were just below my collar bone. (Don't worry. They settle into place.) Due to the soreness, I found it difficult to do simple things like sitting up. However, one week after surgery, I noticed an improvement on a daily basis. I followed my post-op instructions to the letter and had no complications.
I am now 3 months post-op. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the results. I can now purchase cute shirts and dresses and feel confident that I look good in them. I am glad that I had the surgery and would do it all over again without changing a thing."

"Tummy tuck/muscle repair and breast lift - I feel really good! - I’m 8 days PO and I must say, I feel really good! My recovery is not at all what I expected. I was terrified of being in excruciating pain and being helpless! The first day was kinda crazy because I was so doped up, so that was a blur. Day 2 was much better, I slept in my own bed, glad I didn’t go a get a recliner, but I guess it works for some.I’m an active person with being a group fitness instructor, so I really think that helped me out a lot. I had no real pain, just discomfort, and by day 4, I was pretty much self sufficient, I no longer need help with getting up and down, I was caring for my own incisions, emptying my drains (which I hate), and taking showers on my own!I did a lot of praying not to be helpless, even though my hubby and family were there if I needed them, I did what I could on my own. I took a while but I got it done! I still have swelling and the drain sites are irritating but I’m staying in my garment most all day. "My name is Courtney. I am 25 years old, 5'2" and weigh 110 pounds. I had breast augmentation one month ago. I originally was a 34 A-B and am currently a 34 full C.
I considered this procedure for approximately 5 years and finally decided to proceed. It just seemed like the right time to go through with it.
I have to say the whole experience was much easier than I thought it would be. It was less painful than I thought and was really just an uncomfortable feeling. It felt like I had worked out too much at the gym and had a muscle pull. I was very sore but I only needed my pain medication for the first 3 days. I had horrible back aches from the pressure which I did not realize would occur prior to surgery. This was the worst part of the whole recovery process. I had trouble finding a comfortable sleeping position for the first month because I am a side sleeper and it hurt too much to sleep in this position. I also had trouble driving in the beginning because it was just too uncomfortable to do.
I would tell anyone considering this procedure to make sure you have a good person to take care of you, preferably your mother. If I had to do anything different, I would have done it a lot sooner."

"BBL with dr.gunn - I had my BBL and 4 areas of lipo by Dr Gunn. I'm three weeks weeks post op. I'll start off by saying that I'm super happy with my results and I think Dr Gunn is an amazing surgeon! He's compassionate, he listens to what you want and is straight forward with helping you to be realistic about your surgery. He doesn't rush you. He listened to all my long list of questions. He gave me exactly what I wanted. The fact that you can text him with any questions is amazing as well. I highly recommend him. I saw Dr. hedden the next day after surgery, he was awesome as well. Both surgeons are kind and professional. I have no complaints and nothing negative to say about either surgeon.The only one negative experience with having my surgery at Hedden plastic surgery is the nurses. They are rude and are not just not kind and warm which is what you expect with a nurse. My pre op nurse was sweet, my post op nurse was terrible. She didn't help me at all it was actually the receptionist( with the British accent) that offered me water and crackers after surgery. my post op nurse was complaining that everyone left her, complaining about her children as well. (I don't know her name but shes middle aged with brown hair) This was while I was waking up after surgery. I did hear her say that Dr Gunn called to check on me so that made me feel better. They could use new nurses but overall my experience was positive. The surgeons are amazing so don't let the nurses stop you from having surgery with them."

"I am a 31 year old mother of 5 who had been wishing for younger looking breasts and a flatter, tighter stomach for a while. I was very self conscious about the way I looked in and out of clothes! They have startled to settle and I’m pretty sure the swelling is gone. Starting to look more and more natural daily. I’ve only had one person notice my new additions! I’ve been doing the massages twice a day and they help a ton! I hope they fill in more in the middle but I know some of that has to do with what you had before. I was measured at aerie and I wear a 32DD however it seems like that size is super hard to find so when I can’t find it I buy a 34D which is a little too big for my ribcage but it will do. I was experiencing boob greed recently wish I had gone with 450 cc but I think it would have been even harder to find a bra. Deff a happy customer. "

"Consult Review: Dr. Gunn is Great! .. Will Update Post Op! - Dr. Gunn is really nice and knowledgeable. I'm fairly thin (5'3 124 lbs) and we are going to do the bbl with fat transfer to the hips. He was fully transparent to the fact that I do not have a lot of fat to graft but he thinks he could give me the results I'm looking for. I had my consult maybe 3 weeks ago. I was excited, and then I got a little anxious so I blew up his phone and emails with questions. He and his nurses were really cool about it. "I have had excessive sweating since as long as I remember. Probably since puberty. My wardrobe consists mainly of white or dark colored T-shirt's. I could never wear the pretty blouses I wanted to. Hyperhidrosis affects your self esteem. In high school, I often had to wear a flannel or cardigan over my T-shirt's because of the sweat stains. It was awful. I couldn't even wear tanks on a hot day. I've been researching Miradry for about 4 years now. I've wanted to get it done but finances prevented that until now. My procedure is scheduled for September 20, 2019 at Dr. Hedden's clinic in Birmingham, AL.Updated on 15 Sep 2019:I was told not to shave my armpits 3 days prior to the procedure. I’m getting excited and nervous! 5 more days!Updated on 20 Sep 2019:I’ve been waiting on this day!! I wasn’t too nervous thankfully. I have a fear of needles and doing this is a huge thing for me. First the nurses cleaned my armpits and applied the template (temporary tattoo). Next, the nurse manager came in and injected the lidocaine. There was only 5 sticks per arm and they weren’t too bad. Thanks to me getting the procedure done at a plastic surgeon’s office they had access to a nifty little machine from the OR (can’t remember what she said it was called) that allowed 5 injections per arm instead of 20-60 with a needle. Really a lifesaver!! After the injections, she gave me some little ice packs to put under my arms. We then proceeded with the Miradry. I literally felt nothing but warmth, not burning hot or anything though. Totally tolerable. It feels weird with your pits being numb. Lol!! I popped some ibuprofen when I left. And the did send me home with prescriptions for Medrol and Norco. She said I probably won’t need the Norco but they send it just in case because it cannot be called in if I end up needing it. Hopefully I won’t!! I’ll update as my recovery progresses.Updated on 22 Sep 2019:Also an increase in pain but nothing unbearableUpdated on 22 Sep 2019:Still swollen pretty bad but there is no pain! This would normally cause me to have to change my shirt afterwards lol. But I did take my diet pill after lunch though so maybe that’s it? Idk. A little disheartening. I’m ok with doing a second procedure but I was hoping to not have to. Updated on 24 Sep 2019:I don’t know if I’m actually sweating or just feel like I am. It feels kinda clammy or damp. "Questions for other tummy tuckers - I have wanted a tummy tuck for as long as I can remember and I was finally able to do with the help of Dr. Stephen Gunn. I love him, Dr. Hedden, and their staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I had a revised breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and lipo.I had my surgery on 8/10/19. I spent the night in Birmingham the night before my surgery and the night of my surgery so we didn't have to get up as early the morning of the surgery. I had very little anxiety the night before. It was more excitement. We got to the surgery center and were called back in a reasonable amount of time. They began prepping me and I went back within about an hour of arriving (I was the first patient that day). I went in the OR and the next thing I know I'm waking up to go back to the hotel. I was in some pain and could not stand upright, naturally. I highly recommend the Exparel shot - worth the extra money. My husband had my meds filled and kept my meds coming on schedule, day and night, for the first few days to stay "on top of" the pain. My recovery has been pretty unremarkable, but I am 10 days out and I am having so much hypersensitivity. I seem to be having a pity party today. Luckily I have read that this is somewhat normal, which makes me feel better. :) My skin literally hurts! I called and they said that was normal and would go away with time. The drains are also on my last nerve (hopefully will come out Sept 4 - 2 weeks is enough!). They are hurting more than anything else. I can't find anything to wear that will cover them up, so I'm stuck at home and going stir crazy. I may be having a reaction to some of the tape, because it is itching me to death. Lastly, they should make these binders in petite. Because I'm so short, mine rides up so bad and doesn't cover everything it needs to. I struggle with it constantly.Now, I am finished with my pity party and the "bad" and will continue with the "good." I am very pleased with my results. Are my results perfect? No, but there was so much to go from where I was to perfect, I'm completely happy with what I have. My only concern is that there is a distinct line at my hips, almost like saddle bags. I'm hoping that it is just swelling, but again, if that is all I have to deal with, I am still pretty "pumped" about my flat tummy.Do any of you have similar experiences with hypersensitivity or pain in the drain? "I am 37 years old and the mom of 3 teen children, all of whom I breast fed. I was always small going through school and could never wear the type of clothes I wanted to wear. After breast feeding three babies I dried up to be even smaller. So at 37 I decided to do something special for myself.
I was going to get a breast augmentation. I made the appointment with Dr. Hedden. His staff is very professional and make you feel at ease. They treated me as if they had known me for years. On my first appointment I was told to bring different size bras that I might like to be, so I did C's and D's. They put my husband and I in a room and gave us several different size implants to try on play with. I decided on 425 CC round under the muscle.
Dr. Hedden came in, examined and measured my chest wall and breast, and said that would work and would make me around full C and small D. He explained the surgery and recovery and answered all my questions. I wanted this so bad but was very scared until I left this appointment. Leaving I felt very sure, safe and excited.
I arrived on the morning of the surgery, my husband got to come back and stay with me until time to go to the O.R. We kissed goodbye and off I was to surgery. The anesthesiologist explained to me what she would be doing and we began.
After the surgery I don't really remember a lot until we were almost home. When we got home my husband helped me into the recliner and told me things went great. I just wanted to sleep. Around 4 hours later I awoke asking for a pain pill, feeling sore and aching. The next morn he got me up and helped me take a shower. My first view of the new girls! There was still tape across my incisions and some bruising. They were still high but wow I was a D cup for sure.
The shower felt great and back on with the sports bra. The recliner was my home for the day because I was sore and stiff but not too much pain. No more pain pills all day. In the days to follow I got my strength back in my arms and it wasn't too long that the girls started to drop.
It has been 13 months now since my surgery and I have no regrets. It has been everything I imagined and I can now wear all the cute clothes that I have always wanted to wear.
So expect 3 days to really feel good and a couple of weeks before you can sleep on your side. But I would recommend it to anyone longing for it like I was. The staff and Dr. Hedden will make you feel so comfortable while you are there."

"I finally got my breast augmentation after wanting it for yearsss. I paid for my surgery in April .. Scheduled it in Birmingham, Alabama for July 23rd. The day of surgery was pretty smooth. I was nervous but the anesthesia knocked me out within minutes ! It wasn't as bad as most people said it would be. Just a lot of tightness and pressure. I went with 550CC on the left and 525CC on the right. Before surgery, I was either a 32DD OR A 34D. NOW I'm either a 36DDD or a 38DD. My only Advice is if u want your breasts done DO IT ! UPDATE — I will be 6 weeks post op on Friday ! My dressings on my stitches came off 3 weeks post op.. I started sleeping on my side about a couple weeks ago . My breasts definitely have dropped tremendously. Up until about a week ago , my breasts were extremely swollen (especially the right one).. but it gets better with time . Time definitely makes a huge difference & I am in love ! I can't wait to fully heal .

I have researched surgeons for months and found one I'm very happy with, that even before I scheduled my surgery returned my emails, even on the weekends. (I didn't expect a response until Monday, but how amazing) Since I live out of state from my surgeon I have spoken with numerous helpful associates and I have an in person consultation on the 25th. My surgery is scheduled for the 26th and I am so absolutely excited/scared. I started my massages early about a week after my surgery I started massaging and I do massage more than what's even recommended because I really want a good outcome from this. With all the sagging I have I was offered who left as well but I decided against that and I just went with implants and I got a biplanar position sothe implants should move down and look natural I'm still waiting for them to completely drop and fluff. "Consultation review: Wouldn’t show pictures of previous BBL’s - I went to see him April 2019. Wait time was short and he is a nice man. He answered my questions, but I didn’t feel completely comfortable with his answers because some didn’t coincide with research I’ve. done on Bbl, lipo/tummy tucks. While there I asked to see pictures of some of his work (Bbl’s), but he blew me off and asked me to email him and he would send some. We ended the consultation and his nurse gave me the cost. I emailed him as soon as I got in my car in his office parking lot...that was a Monday. I waited a couple days but he didn't reply, so I emailed him again on Wednesday...still no reply. "I have been wanting to get my breasts done for about 4 years. Before my surgery I was a 34A. I am 5'4 and I weigh about 130lbs. I decided to go with 425cc's and so far so good.
I googled "plastic surgeons in AL", that's where I found about 4 surgeons that I was interested in. When you start looking at the before and after pictures you really get a feel as to how talented the surgeon is, and when I saw Dr. Hedden's work I knew he was my surgeon. Always go with board certified. We all desire a surgeon who is performing in the best interest of us, the patient.
I decided to call and make a consultation with Dr. Hedden. The staff there is so nice and make you feel right at home. If they can't answer one of your questions they go out of their way to find the answer for you.
When I got to Hedden Plastic Surgery, I got called right back to a room where a nurse was waiting. She asked me about my incision choice and if I knew what size yet, I told her around a full C and she gave me some options on what would get me there. I decided on 390cc's. Dr. Hedden came in and talked to me, he was very calming and softspoken and extremely professional. He asked which size I decided on and I told him 390cc's and he told me he thought that was a good choice but I could go bigger if I wanted.
Finally the day of my surgery came and boy was I nervous. They asked me if I wanted to change my size and I told them yes I wanted to go to 425cc's. Dr. Hedden came in and was the one who really calmed me down, he assured me everything would be fine.
When I woke up there was a nurse with me, she was so sweet. She asked me how I was doing and if I needed anything and I told her I was fine. She helped me get dressed and wheeled me out to the car. I was in pain but finally it eased up on the 2nd day and I went to my follow-up appointment. Dr. Hedden was wonderful. He said everything looked good and to see me back in 4 weeks.
I am going on a week since my surgery. I have beautiful breasts now and can't stop looking at them. They are riding a little high but that is to be expected. They should be dropping to their natural place soon and I can't wait to buy all new bras and new swim suits!

"I am 23 years old. I had been thinking about breast augmentation for about 2 years before I went to Dr. Hedden for a consultation. For the longest time I felt less than a woman because of my small breast size. I had a nice little figure, but it was a "half hour glass" shape. I have a big butt, a small waist and NO BREAST! I was very troubled by that and one day I did something about it.
I had surgery at Hedden Plastic Surgery. Before augmentation I was a full 34A. I decided to go with 390 cc which would give me about a 2 cup size difference. The day of the surgery I remember going back and speaking briefly with a nurse, the doctor and the anesthesiologist. They all were shocked at how calm I was. I was so happy to be getting this procedure done! I was walked into the surgical suite where I was given an IV. I chose to have my implants placed underneath my muscle and the incision was made underneath the fold of my breast.
The next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. The nurse smiled and asked how I was doing. I felt really good after I woke up. I truly was not in any pain. It was more of a feeling of tightness in my chest. Shortly thereafter, my fiancé pulled the car up and I was wheeled out. I was feeling well enough that I went into Rite Aid with him to fill my Rx. Then I was taken home to relax and recover.
My recovery process was good. I never felt pain, it was just like a pulled muscle. I was a little stiff for about 2 days, but after that I was okay. I only took maybe 2 of the pain pills. The day after surgery I switched to extra strength Tylenol and the day after that I took nothing. My surgery was on a Monday and I returned to work, feeling great, on Thursday. When I woke up I finally looked down at my "new additions" and noticed that they were basically to my collar bone! They dropped eventually, and now, if I tell someone they do not believe me because they look SO NATURAL!
Some people may think that if you go to a bigger size you may have some limitations to what you can do activity wise. That is not the case for me. I have always been an athletic person and nothing has changed. I can still play basketball, lift weights and anything else that I did before surgery. The only thing I had to adjust to was sleeping on my stomach with a bigger breast size. You kinda feel like you may bust them if you lay on them for too long, but trust me … they won't.
People ask me what was it like to have surgery and would I do it again. My best advice to them would be to research the procedure and the doctor that you would like to go to. Weigh the pros and cons and do what it best for you. But please understand that there are risks involved but for me, my joy and COMPLETE SATISFACTION totally outweighed the risk.
I have had no complication at all and I love my new body. The only thing that I would change would be the size. You may think that 390's sound big and they are. They are a full 34C now, but I think I could pull off a D cup with my body shape. So, Dr. Hedden and staff … see you soon!"

"I am a 33 year old mother of two. After the birth of my second child, my breasts became deflated and saggy. I had contemplated having implants for a couple of years. I finally decided to splurge and schedule my surgery.
I never felt any anxiety about the surgery. I was already a C cup prior to surgery but needed the fullness and perkiness back. I decided to go to a full D cup.
My surgery was scheduled on a Saturday at 2:00. My husband waited in the lobby while I went back and got ready for "the new me." Dr. Hedden came in and marked the size right on my breasts to be sure there were no mistakes, then the nurse began to administer the IV for the anesthesia.
When I woke up from the surgery I was freezing. I felt a lot of pressure, like an elephant was sitting on my chest. The nurse gave me a nice warm blanket and helped me put on the sports bra and my terry cloth jacket. She then wheeled me down in a wheelchair to the lobby where my husband was waiting.
When I got home I started taking the prescriptions. I took these like clockwork the first 24 hours and slept most of the time. I had to have help sitting up in the bed because you cannot put any strain on the arm muscle. The next day I got out of the bed and walked to the couch. I could move around really well. Even though I made myself move around I was careful not to pick up anything or strain my arm or chest muscles.
By the third day I would say I was back to 95% which really surprised me. The surgery and recovery was a lot easier than I had ever anticipated. It definitely was worth what little pain I had and worth every cent I paid. I would do it again in a minute."
"I am 37 years old and prior to my breast augmentation I was a 36A. I have always wanted a breast augmentation for as long as I can remember. I did years of research and looked at hundreds of before and after pictures. I also joined a message board and talked to people that had this done.
I made my consult with Dr. Hedden and decided that he was the surgeon for me. He took the time to answer ALL my questions and I was comfortable with him and the staff. Dr. Hedden had asked me what size I was considering and I said 375cc's and he said let me just suggest that you go with 395cc's. His reason was that most woman want to be bigger because once the swelling goes down you see a different size. I left my consult still unsure about the size I wanted but I booked my surgery!
I went home and did the rice test in the stockings trying to figure out what I wanted. I wore the rice bags in my bras for days to get comfortable with the size I was considering. My husband thought at this point I was just boobie obsessed, which I was. I finally chose 395cc's, round implants and placed under the muscles, under the breast incision.
On my surgery day, I was so excited that I was finally going to have breasts after all these years of being flat chested. I started to get nervous once they took me back, but once I woke from surgery it was OK. The only thing I felt was heaviness on my chest. I felt that way for days. I never really felt any bad pain. I felt heavy on top. So, for me the recovery time was great.
There was another surgery date for me. I had the right breast that had "bottomed out" which means that the right breast was sitting slightly lower then the left. My husband said it was hardly noticeable but I noticed it. I wanted it fixed so Dr. Hedden went back in and did what they call tacking it up. That surgery for me was a little more painful then my first but still no regrets. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I have not had any physical limitations because of my breast augmentation. I'm able to workout and go about my daily life with no problems.
With my surgery I was a 36A and with the 395cc's that put me at 36 small D. I'm very happy that I went ahead with the surgery. I feel better in clothes, my self-esteem has soared. I have had nothing but support from family and friends. I was excited so I had to tell everyone I knew.
In retrospect if I could change one thing I would have gone bigger! I do plan on going bigger in the future. Play with all the sizers or take a bra with you of the size you want to be and see what sizers fill it.
All in all, I have had a GREAT experience. Dr. Hedden and his staff are absolutely wonderful and I would recommend them anyone!"
